Police Murder George Floyd Then Riot Nationwide (Links to Streams in OP)

It’s minnesota, the home of No Bar exams and extremely dodgy ME.

The tall grey building at :03 is where I lived for over 10 years and currently have my condo under contract

I think it’s a big mistake for cops to try to stop peaceful protests.

“The combined effects of Mr Kennedy’s underlying health conditions, stressful job as president and getting shot in the fucking brain likely contributed to his death.”

I can’t stress enough: safety first. Decide what your limits are before you step out the door. Have a backup plan. Bring something to drink. And most important… always use the buddy system.

You should be out there @skydiver8 if you can find as safe a spot as possible, the more white middle class ladies out there as possible will help.

Cops making a big mistake is good for the cause.

Yes, this is important, spare batteries for phones etc and have a contact on hand at all times.

I want to be…but it seems my only option right now is LA, and now it’s to late for me to get up there tonight.

That being said, there are tons more white people in a lot of these pictures than I’ve ever seen before, which is definitely something of note.

Good stuff, I’ve checked them out before. I just gave to the Minnesota Freedom Fund, which is bailing people out in Minneapolis and St. Paul. My next donation will probably be to the NLG, which I assume will be helping protesters all over. I know I’ve jotted their number down before when going to a protest in DC.

Typically I’d say why not both? But mid-pandemic with some health risks is a bit different.

Yes… Its good to see, as Trolly said upthread it’s more than George that’s causing these protests, its general frustration with the last few weeks+.

Yeah I feel like NYPD usually do a good job, from what I’ve seen they tend to work with the leaders of the protest to set up in ways that avoid confrontations and cut off traffic to avoid safety issues, then they only move in if it gets out of hand on its own - which it rarely does. Think about how many times we’ve seen huge protests in NYC the last few years, but I don’t recall any of them boiling over.

Yeah, this is giving me a profound hope for this country that I haven’t had in a while.

In Chicago, the cops are preventing the protesters from moving from a moderately used feeder ramp to one of the busiest interchanges in the country.

What they could do is raise the bridge in that spot if it wasn’t for the backed up traffic. They have used that tactic before.

Exactly, your time is better invested by helping out 1 of these movements atm, 1 more boot ain’t making a difference bro.

I know but that’s not how I think about it. I think that when I’m deciding whether to go, so are a thousand or a million or 10 million other people who are like me - 30-35 year old upper middle class white male. So I like to think about it that way. I want all those people to go, so I need to go and hope they make the same decision. I know that that demographic is needed in this fight, and I need to be a part of it.

This time I’ll give myself 30-35 year old upper middle class white male with pre-existing health conditions during a pandemic.

I am thinking of putting a Black Lives Matter sign in my yard somehow, maybe a flag.

It might be inviting vandalism or hate, but at this point, i don’t care.

The justice system sure is super racist at every level.

I was thinking the same thing. I’m guessing it violates my lease, but I have a terrace where if I put a big enough sign it might be visible from the Interstate.
