Unless the other three are arrested as well, it’s fairly meaningless. Cops need to learn that standing by and letting other cops murder someone has consequences. Only way to break the Blue Wall is to punish those that are creating it by their inaction and incentivize the “Good” cops to act when they see a bad cop.

In my limited monitoring of the more mainstream derposphere, I’m not seeing any outright defense of the cop, but a lot of the usual “it looks bad but we really should get all the facts before we rush to judgment and go arresting this guy and ruining his life” type bullshit. Anytime a white person kills a black one they need to see the same standard of evidence that Dave Chapelle did to convict R. Kelly. When the shoe is on the other foot (see Central Park Five) then the thugs need to be strung up and executed immediately.
Most conservatives know to sit this one out and not chime in, they know they’ll get dogpiled. In a few days they’ll start sharing more videos of white cops playing basketball with black kids, work in some “all lives matter”, maybe even get some “this is just one bad apple”, then it’s back to the usual racist shitposting.

They can also take a peep into custody if they feel they are danger to themselves or others. In particular, if the ex-cop was actually holed up at home, and the cops felt they could no longer protect him there.
Yeah. And like if they put you in cuffs while they search your car, you’ve been taken into custody, but not really arrested. Usually its a way of covering yourself when reporting if you don’t know what the charge is.

I don’t think it’s surprising or edgelording. There is a very deep sense of frustration with pretty much everything in the country these days, and the people being shook the most aren’t on the extremes. It’s everybody in the middle who are accustomed to things never getting too bad and more or less going their way. It’s not even really about George Floyd.

Just crazy that we’ve got to a point where videos of police killing are uploaded to the internet live while it happens and you get to watch the guy say “i can’t breathe i’m going to die” and bystanders are like “yes we are watching a man get murdered right now” like how much clearer could this get?
