It is a competency issue. Thinking that violently assaulting people is going to lead to less overall violence and less risk to themselves is cuckoo.
Maybe a little hope here–my son was brainwashed and pro-cop prior to the George Floyd incident and is now completely anti-cop. I worked on him for a few years, but this moment has convinced him that dad was right. This moment feels different to me and I think the cops are killing the golden goose with their tone deaf response to the outrage. The police are losing a large portion of an entire generation right now and I’m hopeful that this moment will bite them in the ass. I’m looking forward to the Seattle PD getting a huge budget cut when their next contract is up.
Lower your expectations?
Seriously. You post like you know about a slow march and continuous struggle. Accept that. Leave the world a better place or at least do something to flatten the curve as it were. That’s the best that’s going to happen and it is what’s happening.
