I do still follow him but not super closely. From what I have seen I donāt think full blown trumper is fair. He has gone off the deep end on āpolitical correctnessā for sure. Itās possible I have missed something that would suggest he more Tumber than I think though.

people like negreanu, and there are a lot of them today, donāt really have a strong sense of self or identity, so they tend to glob on to whatever the latest trend/fad or strongest signal that happens to grab them. Iāve seen this shift happening to a ton of people that surprised me much more, I blame elon.

I think his prior cult was poker nerds who idolized him as the top young gun. Then he got old and exposed by Doug as not being that good, and his ego took a huge hit. You can see it in his blog how he now attacks solvers, GTO, etc.
The anti-woke community welcomed him with open arms and gave him that adoration he desperately missed.

Iāve never seen him attack gto or solvers. Quit the opposite. He has talked a lot about all the work he has done with both.
He definitely will make a play and then say something like, this is one you GTO nerds wouldnāt do.
The other example that pops to mind in the Jeremy Becker/Landon Tice bet. Negreanu was pushing that Becker style of playing āintuitiveā poker was superior to the Tice GTO wizard style.
Itās a bit tongue in cheek, but I think there is some real frustration for him that the GTO/solver players are better than him (and especially that their style is now what everyone respects). He uses solvers and discusses what the GTO play is, but his recent stuff seems to be highlighting non-standard plays over pure GTO.
