Only seen 10 seconds of him, but I think Sean Winter is my new fave poker player. Also fuck those dickbags like Dan Smith who are constantly tanking and killing live MTTs.

If you take more than 15 seconds on 99% and 120 seconds on the other 1% of your poker decisions you are simply wasting time and hurting the game.
Yah, the damage these guys have done to the game is massive, and all to eke out just a bit more EV. Every time I try a big MTT, it’s a pretty brutal experience, can’t imagine what the casuals who just want to have fun think.
I don’t get it. Most of them play online and are used to making decisions in a couple seconds, especially b/c it’s common to multi-table a bunch of MTTs, but then one-tabling live you suddenly need to use up 10x the time?

i don’t think the issue with dan smith is that he tanks often. maybe, but the issue in hand is that he demands quiet and berates people for talking mid-hand.
I would just talk louder.
This is why limit tournaments are better.

Easy for Bonomo to say. He just opens more SNGs on his tablet when people are tanking at one of his tables.

I’m genuinely amazed we haven’t found an ultra speed poker variant yet.
I love the WSOP coverage over the years but surely some insane turbo format would make for far better TV than any of these super high rollers etc…
I’d make it literally 5 seconds a decision and one minute timebanks. Use the timebank time as a “big decision moment” for actual commentator analysis etc…

Yah if you created a competing series of events the WSOHSP, World Series of High Speed Poker, it would take about 3 years before all the fish flocked there and the WSOP would be dead.

I played limit for a living circa 2008-2011 in Aus (games were amazing) and would hard disagree.
The same problems with the game exist even with a binary betting decision
Have you ever seen someone tank for five minutes in limit?
And at showdown everyone must flip their damn cards over immediately.
