it’s dumb for two different reasons. one because he does care about mincashing and two because he should care about mincashing. “i play to win” is a dumb incorrect view from the mid 00s.

I’ve eventually come around to the idea that when you’re short-stacked on the bubble, min-cashing should be your priority. I didn’t used to play that way, but some discussion by game theory-oriented pros convinced me to grudgingly play that way in NL tournaments.

I was definitely jamming pre too loosely when short-stacked near the bubble. I’d occasionally shove blind unnecessarily. Basically, ICM suicide.
