If you combined Rounders and Mulholland Drive into one movie and only cast the people from Jersey Shore, I’m pretty sure this scandal is exactly what you’d get. There’s even a mysterious cowboy.
Beanz committed PPP fraud for a few hundred thousand…
Instead of finding out if anybody cheated all we’re going to find out is that everyone involved in high stakes poker is scummy.
I, for one, am SHOCKED.
i said this in the another thread but its not a coincidence that the mini poker boom of 2020-21 coincided with govt handing out billions in free ppp money. the scumbags in the poker world are the exact type type of people to take advantage of those programs. still baffles me how they cant think of anything better to do with the money than immediately go to the highest stakes game they can find and play 70% VPIP and degen it off to other scumbag pros.
Basically nobody is properly rolled so everyone goes broke. It’s impossible to believe how bad it can go until it happens. And it eventually happens to everyone.
Whenever someone uses the term ‘be better’/‘lets be better’ I assume they’re using it to antagonise. Could a phrase ooze arrogance more?
Honestly Garrett seems like an enormous douche.
Been there, done that, except the first sentence cause I stay properly rolled. Most live pros definitely underestimate how bad it can go, and how often it can go that bad.
People also think they are way better at poker than they actualy are when they are running hot. Poker is a pretty cruel game.
The bigger mix games on private sites were unreal. It was so much fun while it lasted.
Have you seen all the additional evidence we have?
This is such a weird take. He is exhibiting the absolute most basic level of human decency not wanting totally innocent people to be harassed and accused by the internet mob.
To interpret this as something bad is next level cynicism!
Except maybe he should have thought of that before releasing his “documents” doing exactly that to multiple people with little or no actual evidence, including some info that was supposedly widely known to be wrong.
He’s basically saying “be better” - but only to people I like. If it’s someone I don’t like, feel free to rip into them (plus he’s been leading the mob against someone he acknowledged “there isn’t any direct evidence is involved in the scheme” but here’s a list of reasons why he’s a bad person).
He has handled himself very poorly for sure. I was making a more general point that asking the mob to be better isn’t snobbish. It’s often basic human decency.
