She didn’t fold JJ, it went check-check on the river and Eric won with his flush. That hand seems like an example of not cheating. If she knew she’s ahead on turn, she should be raising/shoving as that board is so wet. Why just call and give opponents chance to catch up.
@Kep @clovis8 @JonnyA do you have links and time stamps for the other relevant hands? I’d like to check them out.
130k means nothing to her but also she had backers in that game and she’s determined to win it back from this guy
They are back to back at around 5:27. These are all after the garrett hand.
One nice thing is that there are lots of breaks on youtube so if you hover over the bar, it tells you where the big hands are.
Is there anything before the J4 hand? I feel like after is definitely less valuable because she could be trying to cover her tracks.
She also said at one point early on after Garret put her all in “so my 3’s are no good”. People say all kinds of shit. I think she thought she had J3 with the club (iirc) blocker and then got all flustered and confused when she didn’t, and then she was immediately put on the stand to explain her thinking. For fucks sake I’ve played for years and still make some plays that I cannot entirely explain based partly on logic and partly on feels. I’ve watched her a bit and think that she actually has a decent feel for where she stands in spots. She’s not terrible like Keating by any means. She knows just enough to still be confusing herself.
I think she played only a few hands before the Garrett one.
Most seemed pretty standard. She didn’t play perfect and didn’t seem to make any weird moves.
TIL I should be playing in more games with UPers
JJ went check check. She didn’t fold it went four flush. Zero chance she is cheating there. She would bet pot 100% if she was.
Can we at an absolute minimum not post easily verifiable false information. Sheesh.
Ok I went back and watched the hand and you’re right about the JJ four flushed hand going check/check river. I must have misremembered. I think she plays bad but I still can’t decide if she plays bad and also cheats.
She has played several sessions before, including the previous night. No hints of anything funny.
Why do you think she would bet pot 100% if she’s cheating?
If you don’t know the answer to that not much I can say.
Seems pretty sexist
lol I remember watching that when it went down. The look on Ivey’s face was priceless, others were pretty good too.
Anyway, put me in the “she’s just bad at poker” camp. It could be cheating but I think the more likely explanation is she got tired of getting pushed around and spazzed out in the moment. After the fact she must’ve realized she looked like a total idiot and got even more flustered being put under the microscope by everyone and spouted off any kind of face saving explanation she could think of. If you’re cheating there you probably think about it before you pull the trigger and make sure you come up with a plausible explanation (like “lol I thought I had a 3”) and repeat it over and over again without deviating because you know you’re gonna get grilled.
Agree. It’s clear that is what happened watching it again. She was sick of being owned by Garret and just lost her mind. Seen it happen many times.
That hand was what, 3.5 hours after the J4 hand? To cheat and call w/ J4 and expose yourself is massively stupid in and of itself, but to then keep doing it later is a special kind of stupid.
But also you’re assuming that if she’s cheating she knows his exact cards. If all she knows is she’s behind, then she can assume he has a flush and she doesn’t know which one.
I have no idea why you keep saying this it’s really silly. So your idea is hercheating method only tells her she is ahead or behind so she has no idea if it’s 51/49 or 100/0?
The hand in question she called as a tiny favourite. That is the dumbest method of cheating ever devised. Come on. You are just reaching.
I will bet anyone, in the tiny chance she was cheating, it wasn’t some idiotic binary ahead behind method.
What odds and amount?
