Poker Hands and Strategy

Good point re: blockers. I had ruled out random Jd hands being in the range of a GTO EP raiser on that board, but I had overlooked the 3 Jd-Jx combos. And depending on how early his position is, there might be Ax-Jd combos too.

I’ve gone through the 12 stages of grief on that QQ hand and realized I suck at poker.

Also at my games the regs would be really pissed she killed the bonus.

My 2020 resolution is to play more poker. Stats for 2019:

14 sessions, no losses, 93% ROI
50.5 hours played, $92.65/hr

All at 3/300 spread limit holdem with a $300 max buy-in. Looking to play at least 150 hours in 2020 and possibly add PLO to the mix. Maybe a few tournaments too. Poker is fun!

My 2020 resolution is to actually have a motherfucking winning session. WTF I remember why I hated live poker. So frustrating to put up with people’s shitty personalities and get it in good time after time only to lose with 93% equity (OK that was only once, but losing 8 of 9 as a 60% or 70% favorite gets old).

Somewhat funny 5/5 hand from yesterday… Two guys at the table are absolutely terrified of being drawn out on so every bet from them is a massive overbet bomb. Four limpers for a $20 pot (13 after rake)… bet 60 on the flop. Three $5-limpers PF and they raise to 55. Three -way limped pot for 15 (8 after rake), someone bets 10, and they raise to 100, or all-in for 200 on a J72r flop. Everyone folds and they show J, like a 20x raise is the most natural thing in the world.

Anyway, I raise UTG to $15 or 20 with QQ. One of the Bomber Brothers in LP raises to ~100, as he has been doing all day. I jam for 610 total. (In this dynamic it’s not as bad as it sounds; he had done this with as low as 77 earlier. Also, I was a bit tilted at the time). BomberBro asks for a count. Dealer says “about 600.” BomberBro says he needs an exact count. Dealer breaks it down and says “610.” BomberBro takes his time counting out enough chips to call, then slowly slides them out. All this reluctance makes me wonder if he has KK and puts me on AA.

I flop a Q, excellent. A King hits the turn and I wonder if I’m toast, but at showdown he rolls AA. For the next 20 minutes his friend at the table mocks him relentlessly for slow-rolling pre-flop, and is convinced that’s why he lost.

Also played for a couple hours with international recording star William Hung

Nice guy. Unfortunately I do not own any of the three albums he’s released.

JFC at asking for an exact count before calling with AA. That could get you shot in the wrong place.

I basically never get mad and that would piss me off.

Low content BBV post:

I haven’t played much since 2006 (UIGEA) but I put in a couple sessions last week to prepare for a friend’s upcoming bachelor party in Vegas. I was playing pretty aggressively at this one kid I had position on who seemed a bit weak and predictable post flop. I could tell he was getting a bit frustrated by it. Then the perfect hand comes up, I flop a medium set vs his paired up AQo. 2 diamonds on the board. Stacks go in, 300 BB pot. 2 more diamonds on the turn and river.

How many total hands would you estimate? Over 100?

lol live poker humor

I’m taking a poker trip this weekend to Vegas. I try to convince myself the beats already happened so that I can only get happier in the moment.

Please stack some pasty poker shutin backpack grinders at Bellagio for me. And when you do say “that’s poker” or something equally annoying to a grinder.

I like to say “the hand played itself, really” when I stack off w a 6 high flush draw and get there.

Why not just let him play at the Wynn or Aria and have a better time?

Pasty shutins must be punished!

1250 or so. Hoping to play 3750 this year.

Does anyone know why Live at the Bike isn’t airing on Twitch? They’re still on YouTube but I hate YouTube. Google doesn’t seem to know and I would ask 22 but eff them.

I’ve asked the guy in charge and will post when he responds.

Was just a financial decision, they weren’t making anything on Twitch.

Thank you for finding out. I guess I’ll just have to make a point of going to YouTube now.

How are these poker vloggers allowed to film at the table?
