Podcasts need time to find out what they are. Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History episodes are nothing compared to what they used to be.
Go the Republican route. Support this or we withdrawal all financial support and throw it all behind your opponent and ban you from a lobbyist job after you lil shit. Blackmail him if you must.
I find his podcast on the pacific front in WWII to be pretty damn good.
That said I want more ancient shit which should be whats coming next.
I will admit he had a few stinkers like Painfontainment and kings of kings, but still overall goat podcast.
I liked Painfotainment though it was a little repetitive. Kings of Kings I never even bothered, same with the one about the Khans.
Wrath of the Khans is good imo. King of Kings sucked. I can’t get through Supernova in the East either, does it improve in the later eps?
Obviously something is deeply corrupt within your souls if you didn’t like wrath of the khans. It’s one of his best ones. How do you not like the series on the most impressive conquests in world history?
Supernova… I dunno I really like the first episode and how they explained exactly how Japan got to be the way that it was, and how different it was than any other culture in the world, and how they went from basically a medieval society to a super power in like what 50 years? Thats fucking crazy. I don’t know how you don’t find that interesting.
After that though its mostly naval battles which aren’t my favorite but I still find it interesting. It’s not his best subject but still pretty solid imo.
His Addendum Glimpses of Olympias was decent too.
I can’t get through Supernova in the East either, does it improve in the later eps?
I dunno, I gave up on it.
I listened to Dan Carlin again, and again and again and again.
Ear Hustle is elite. I get so into the stories.
November Rain Chapo was great.
Hate to agree with Trump on anything but he is right about November Rain.
His reference to it has launched the music video to 1.4 billion views on YT.
I liked the part where Biden says he has no empathy for young people. Hadn’t heard that one before always good to add more ammo.
Just finished season 1 of a new podcast from Turner Classic Movies called The Plot Thickens. I recommend it. This season focuses on the life and (WAY) up and down career of Peter Bogdonovich, a truly fascinating director and writer and actor. Hosted by Ben Mankiewicz. The best part was the bonus episodes which were old (surprisingly candid and informative) audio interviews Peter did back in the late 60s and early 70s with old Hollywood legends, including Jimmy Stewart, Alfred Hitchcock, Henry Fonda, Howard Hawks and John Wayne. It also gives some insights into the murder of Dorothy Stratten that I did not previously know. Movie buffs will definitely enjoy it.
Having no empathy is really a prerequisite to become a successful politician.
November Rain isn’t the worst video ever, but it’s close.
Carlin’s cadence is so slow and self-important that the subject matter really has to interest me to keep plowing through.
OK Boomer, I get it. This is a weird thing I don’t know about yet. Can you please just explain it to me succinctly rather than acting like it’s going to blow my mind?
It’s just good politics as a certain northerner would say
Like Carter, Bill Clinton, Obama, and Biden? Taking a statement from @tabbaker and turning it into a general proposition is a path to idiocy.
I like some of the HH podcasts, but Carlin’s politics podcasts are total idiocy, peak “both sides.” Guys like him, minus a few brain cells, are how we got Trump. I’d be half surprised if he doesn’t do a podcast on the scourge of kiddie trafficking.
