I can see why people would be put off, especially by r/chapotraphouse2 which is mostly memes about politicians dying and celebrating authoritarian states. At least the quarantined one discusses the show to some extent.
Lombardy is also one of the richest regions in Italy, which has a pretty big regional economic disparity:
The show threads generally aren’t too bad, but any and all other threads on there are unreadable.

Amber would probably be better if she just didn’t even try to do comedy and was more the dry straight one in the group. I’m fine with hearing her perspective on things, she’s very occasionally amusing but her rate of having things fall flat is too damn high.
Thing is, it’s not even an ongoing podcast, it’s a limited series. Unless Stitcher have something really wowzer behind the paywall, I’m gone when it’s finished.

They all knew each other already via twitter obv, but it is hard not to see a little ticket-balancing going on with the choices of Virgil and Amber. That said, she’s been organising for like two decades and knows a ton of stuff about that end of things. And it’s been, let’s say a re-education to witness the same mob that denounced Chapo Clásico as ‘three straight white guys’ collectively decide that Yep, the woman’s the real villain, look who she hangs out with, omg can you believe she wrote an op-ed for THEM!?!?!

I like star wars as much as the next guy and I’m doing essentially nothing for the foreseeable future, but they’re fucking joking if they think I’m going to sit down and watch any of these movies. I have literally nothing going on but there’s dozens of things I’d rather do.

I supported Tom Harkin in the 1992 primaries.
They’re not even the first lefty podcast to do it! Struggle Session did exactly the same thing. The same fucking movie even.
I’m definitely contemplating canceling my Patreon subscription.
The Patreon episodes in general are inferior to the free ones.

I should do this as well and just pick up other podcasts to fill in, but they really are a whole lot better than most podcasts in general. It’s just hard to listen to something that isn’t funny or the production sucks.
The conversation with the nurse on chapo today really has me wondering where all our healthcare dollars are going. We pay like twice as much as every other country, but hospitals are way understaffed and are lacking in equipment?
