Discourse has a feature called badges, where you automatically get awarded badges for your exceptional posting achievements.
They’ve always been disabled because ██████ thought they were dumb but I say bring them back! What could be better during these dark times then waking up to a notification like this?

Gamification has always made places like this better, right?
They’re using gamification loosely to mean, a tech buzzword that looks good in letters to investors. The only gamification this would involve would be getting a notice and badge whenever one of your posts gets 10 likes, And seeing a post with nine likes and giving it a 10th knowing you’ve made someone’s week.
Can we have people ID their own posts of real content vs petty bickering?
And then the rest of us can just IGNORE the petty bickering posts? Movie thread has become unreadable.

I’m glad to see the higher-ups have adopted my suggestion.
Let’s see if it’s just this badge that has been activated, or whether I can get the coveted “Nice Reply” badge for getting 10 likes on a post.
