Looks like we held the line this time around.
So glad we have to sweat whether the founders of terrorist organizations get special treatment.
We don’t, really.

So far, there are no clear signs that the department’s Jan. 6 investigation has reached a stage where officials would be close to deciding whether to charge Mr. Trump.
LOL the crime is literally “you can’t possess this stuff.” He possessed it. End of story.
This is like catching someone with 10 pounds of cocaine and interviewing their 4th grade teacher. CHARGE HIM YOU GUTLESS LOSERS
Too bad he’s not a black teenager who got caught with a joint in his pocket.
I think he’ll find that only works for ex-presidents with judges in their pocket.
Reminders like this of these dumbass, walkie-talkie tough guys going on about “military principle 105” or whatever the fuck only adds to the mirth I feel whenever I see a headline of them being sentenced, especially when they blubber and whine about being treated “unfairly” (held accountable)

Trump should pardon all those folks. Its common sense.
OMG THEY’RE BEING PERSECUTED FOR THEIR POLITICAL BELIEFS!
i’m kinda a sucker for the late night bit where they show a picture and do a “seen here as a” joke.
preet bharara, seen here as a man who is about to get fired and start his own podcast about law and bruce springsteen.
Apparently Ginni Thomas has reached “a deal” with the J6 committee to get interviewed in “the coming weeks.” That’s about it for details of her interview in the WaPo article.

LOL she reached a deal to show up and do the Dave Chappelle FIF meme because she doesn’t want to pay a million dollars in legal fees defying a subpoena
Can’t Clarence just represent her for free?
He can guarantee 11.11% of the SCOTUS vote on anything.
Justice Clarence Dredd
It’s funny to me that every time I see Scalia’s name, I remember that I actually met one of his sons a couple times and slept over in his dorm room. One of my best friends/roommates in college was a good friend of his in high school, so they naturally kept in touch in college. The Scalia son visited us one weekend and on another weekend, the four of us roommates went to visit him and we all packed into his dorm room for a night.
He was a really, cool, nice guy back then. Looks like he’s a conservative wonk now, but can’t quite tell how over the top he is (I don’t feel like doing a deep dive).
Assuming from your screenname and mention of Scalia, that the school was University of Virginia?
My Scalia story: First year of grad school, I am roommates with a law school student scheduling the people who come to judge the moot court final. Scalia had been on this panel for years. The scheduling committee had been mailing him repeatedly with no response. Eventually they got back a nasty letter basically saying, “Why should I do moot court if you didn’t accept my son to law school.”
