Chiefsplanet has been around since 2000 and has an older user base. They do RIP threads fairly regularly and they’re always very well received.

Unrequested update to my TV decision from, oh I don’t know, a week or so ago? We decided to go with the 65" TCL 6-Series. So after all the Black Friday shopping, we went with one that wasn’t even on sale (and requires an extra shipping charge because it’s so fucking big).
Should be interesting. It’s basically the biggest TV that will fit in where we want it and even then, it’s going to require some Tetris skill. The main problem is going to be our front speakers, as they may end up at weird angles so as not to block the view from certain seating positions. Also, lifting it carefully onto the stand will be interesting. The 55" TV is awkward, but ok to handle. This one will be fun.
One reason I opted for this one instead of the 55" was because, oddly, the feet of the 55" were about an inch too wide for our stand. The 65" has an option to position them closer together.
Also, as to the reports of possible hacking of TCL TVs, I read that it doesn’t affect this line, since it’s a Roku TV.
In the meantime, the shadow on our current TV suddenly got worse this weekend. Can’t even read certain text on the left side of the screen.
