every single person in that video thought it was funny.
That’s how I picture the Trump redneck army taking themselves out when they decide to storm Washington after he loses in 2020 or something. Nobody on the other side having to fire a shot as they all lay there rolling around in pain with broken collarbones.
Oh, another school? *yawn* Typical Thursday.
#MassacreMitch is trending. Fuck that ghoul POS.
What’s intriguing about the CR is that gun ownership really is a thing here. Owning a gun is considered quite a freedom as they were banned during Nazi occupation and were restricted to only communist loyalists up until 1989. There are numerous indoor gun ranges throughout Prague where you can fire your weapon. You can get a concealed carry permit for your weapon and about 250,000 people here have done so.
The testing process to get one is extremely rigorous compared to America. The written test is 79 questions and the passing score depends on the purpose of your gun use (licenses are separated based on them), For example, you need to get 67 correct for firearm collection (85%) or 74 (94%) for self-defense.
Then, a practical test is given where you show an examiner that you know how to safely handle a gun and that you can fire it with proficiency. Things like pointing the muzzle in an unsafe direction or touching the trigger before you’re fully prepared to fire are automatic fails. You must hit certain targets and those targets and their distance from you vary based on the type of license you’re getting.
After that, you have to get both a physical and psychological examination. Physical is just for basics (vision, hearing, balance etc) and the psychological exam digs for a bit more. The next step is a criminal record check. Finally, a “personal reliability examination” is provided where the police do further research into a person’s behavior (things like drug or alcohol abuse will disqualify somebody from carrying a gun).
CR ranks around the EU average in civilian gun ownership per capita but has the 2nd lowest intentional homicide rate per capita in the EU.
So yeah, consider me a fan of that sort of gun control.
That’s the problem. DUCY?
I hope no-one from this forum is affected today by the School Shooting in CA as we have a few CA posters… Stay safe brother and sisters and look after yourselves and loved ones.
I guess it discriminates against illiterate people?
Perhaps people without hands?
It was just a dumb joke about redneck America being able to take a written test.
Careful, that looks dangerously close to calling for violence.
I live on the other side of town from Santa Clarita, but I saw a dozen or so police vehicles heading that way on the freeway including a couple huge tactical bus things.
Part of the problem is that even the people like Chris Murphy in Congress don’t use the language they should. When that piece of shit Cindy Lou Who whatever got up and said she’s blocking the bill because she wants to give her grandson a rifle, the correct response is to call her a backwards Confederate racist who celebrates the death of black children. Tell her to go fuck herself. Someone needs to do this. It’s not like they will be kicked out of the Senate. So sick and tired of playing nice to these fuckers.
It’s so fucking sad … snippets from a BBC article
Two students have been killed and three others injured by a gunman who opened fire at a secondary school in California, officials say.
…
A 16-year-old male suspect, who was also injured, was taken into custody.
…
Two victims - a 16-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy - died of their injuries, police said. The other victims were two girls aged 15 and 14, and a 14-year-old boy.The suspect was “identified as a 16-year-old male whose birthday was today”.
that’s all just so wrong.
Gun control, and the right to bear arms, is a divisive political issue in the US. About 40% of Americans say they own a gun or live in a household with one, according to a 2017 survey, and the rate of murder or manslaughter by firearm in the country is the highest in the developed world.
a divisive political issue - you don’t say.
(As a Brit I really don’t get it at all)
Imagine getting this from your kid.
If it happened to me I would not be organizing a non-profit. The restraint of these people who lose their kids legitimately astounds me.
The sheer percentages of it astound me. Like, that 100% have resisted and remained peaceful is amazing just on the numbers of it given how many mass shootings and school shootings we’ve had.
I’ve been saying this for years but we need an Emmett Till moment. A parent needs to show their gunned down child for anything to begin to change. This type of violence doesn’t exist in American consciousness because of movies. It needs to be real and visceral to have an impact.
