Lots of people around us in Ohio are getting hammered with flu A. My sister got flu A and pneumonia at the same time.
Another insider says their hospital is now subtyping flu A cases, testing for H1N1 and H3 first—if negative, samples go straight to the state lab for H5 (bird flu) testing.
Why are they testing flu A patients for bird flu?
