New Moderator Confirmation Votes: jman220, MrWookie, commonWealth, and Crunchyblack

of course, an arbitrary and of course perfectly fairly applied standard of professionalism is to be expected from pure volunteers, because of course

No chance of that if it pertains to anything resembling/approaching/alluding to doxxing, threats, horse porn, etc. If you expect mods to let themselves get doxxed without doing anything about it, feel free to put that to a community vote.

And does ā€œinvolved in the disputeā€ = the victim of borderline doxxing?

All I did to involve myself in that was see my initials posted.

Would you consider quoting offending posts in the log like other mods have been doing? Since we donā€™t have a forum constitution, we effectively operate under common law and it helps to have a clear record of precedents to refer to.

Hold on a second. What is the burden that ā€œvolunteersā€ 6, 7, and 8 are carrying on their shoulders? Do you think we were short staffed?

I have no problem with that for bans, I think logging warnings is already going above and beyond, I donā€™t think theyā€™re really classified as ā€œkey actions.ā€

Iā€™m not going to quote the post that borderline doxxed me for obvious reasons. Youā€™ll have to take me at my word, or let other mods verify it.

Would you agree to only deleting the offending post, doing an initial suspension for a day and letting another mod decide how much longer?

No. He posted my initials, 2 weeks is more than justified. If the community has a problem with it, the community has recourses. If the other mods feel strongly about it and think I overreacted or underreacted, they can certainly tell me that and we can discuss it.

If we assume that there are skeptics here who are still interested in participating in good faith, I think logging everything helps with the perception of transparency.

Answering endless litigation of every single mod action.

What have I not logged that you think I should have logged? I have issued one suspension: churchill for ~doxxing. That canā€™t be quoted for obvious reasons. The only other actions Iā€™ve taken have been warnings, and in each case Iā€™ve given them inline in the thread as a reply to the post in question and then posted in the Log that I gave a warning.

The point is it isnā€™t a burden. They like it. There is no volunteering going on.

Thatā€™s not the impression I get.
