No, I should have extended the quote to include the full

might be hurtful for someone to intentionally misspell a posters name to make some dumb internet point

because now we’re off on a different tangent.

I understand the whole

because it’s a way to dismiss his posting and his opinions because he’s a troll and/or posting in bad faith

aspect.

This wordlawyering shit is exhausting.

Spend a couple minutes thinking about it. You either grossly misunderstand what is wrong about deadnaming or you have forgotten why cu*erounder ran from this site in shame.

I can imagine, why the fuck are you doing it then? Like I’m not combing through your months-ago posts to try and catch you in some dumb gotcha. The wordlawyering is exhausting? Then stop fucking doing it!

Let me guess - being a mod or admin is intolerable?

It wasn’t a gotcha.

I’ve ignored people doing shit like that to you in the past because I assumed it didn’t bother you. I’ve even said that

Your post that I quoted was the first time I had actually seen you mention that it “might be hurtful for someone to intentionally misspell a posters name to make some dumb internet point”, which I didn’t see as a call for moderation or anything other than you saying that you had in fact found those dismissive posts hurtful. I quoted it here because it seemed somewhat relevant but I did a poor job explaining my thinking.

It’s fair to call it doxxing when (1) the poster has explained how a Google search of their real name is linked to their old sn, and they’re trying to remove the link from that sn to their posts ITF, and (2) members of the forum insist on repeating his old sn for the sole purpose of maintaining the full chain back to the user’s real name against the user’s request.

If there was any doubt as to the malicious intent of users in step 2, it should have been cleared up when they began referring to cw as “Streisand”.

The only point I was making is that your rule regarding c*se rounder was punitive and insane. It was about you and your rule, not him. And your rule was crazy because his concerns are either delusional or insincere, and you humoring them with an incredibly punitive rule serves no useful purpose besides the punishment itself. The dumb internet point I was making only peripherally involved c#se rounder, it was about your ill-considered and punitive rule, a rule for which which you refused to even begin to articulate a plausible harm.

Anyway the ■■■■ has gone now so we can all get back to normal.

If that was what the user was worried about he would have search and edited every time he refers to himself as that screen name.

I feel bad for the guy, it’s truly pathetic that he even wanted to remain a mod here for so long.

You’re looking at the wrong side of this. Cw made a perfectly reasonable request. So reasonable that I would grant it to anyone who asked, for whatever reason. So reasonable that I would grant it to anyone who didn’t ask, because protecting a user’s real life identity should be a default responsibility for anyone participating in an online discussion board. It’s nobody’s place to say a user must do x, y, z before you’ll allow them to protect their real life identity. And it’s certainly not anyone’s place to intentionally take actions that are known to expose someone’s identity.

You are glossing over the reasons he made the request and framing it as reasonable. That is your framing but not the reality.

My behavior was so toxic, I’m trying to eliminate any connection to it by requiring the people I was terrible to never to reference me or those things again.

and if you do, it’s doxing…….

What are you both forbidden from talking about and unable to do so while using the moniker commonWealth?

I’m on vacation and not able to keep up with everything, but this has been discussed (who if anyone we know did it). 100% it is not 6ix. I would bet clovis’ net worth on it (just a joke because he says that once in a while). 100%. No one I know says they did it.

Disney Leadership Academy fractured into 3 rival orthodoxies. It’s like the Baptists v the Shiites v the atheists.

Ok cool?!

I’m not accusing anyone of doing it. I was traveling and Insta-deleted it when I woke up and then carried on with my day.

It’s just an FYI, certain people here, or at least one person, are willing to do this type of stuff.

ouch

You’re not accusing anyone but you just know that one person here, presumably the one you named, is “willing to do this type of stuff” (there’s no way he’d do that).

If you hadn’t put your real name in your profile here you wouldn’t have left yourself open to some idiot posting something on your FB, assuming it even happened, which no one is sure about.

There she was, wearing a dress. C’mon man, it’s a shitty thing to do.
