Haha. Watching live this didnāt strike me as a clear unwritten rule situation. They rebounded with 11 seconds left in a 2 possession game, so the instinct is to advance the ball if you can to run clock before getting fouled. (Sort of like what Duke was trying and failed).
I guess once Vassell gets it open in the front court then yeah, but at that point nobody is going to blame him for throwing it down. Pretty different circumstance from McDaniels in a 20 point game.

i definitely expected him to pull off to the corner to dribble it out, when he took that power step going to the hoop i mentally high-fives him a second before the dunk lol.
People here donāt think OG can guard Wemby? CMB shut Wemby down, think OG is similar. Good hands, quicker than Wemby and stronger too. Sure if Wemby gets within 8 feet of the basket he can shoot over him, but I donāt think heās going to have his way by any means.
I think its possible but I also think Wemby has hit another gear in these playoffs.
I dont agree but will admit I was pretty emotionally invested in the game which doesnāt lead to the most objective takes. Bottom line is the Spurs deserved to win the series. They were better and are a scary team going forward. I have no idea what their contract situations are but having guys like Dylan Harper and Castle on rookie deals for a year or two more is a real luxury.
As for the Thunder. I see people on reddit calling to fire Daignault over this which I see as insane. Wemby doesnāt make that insane 3 in G1 and they probably win the series. Fully healthy they probably win the series. Chet doesnāt turn into a pumpkin they probably win the series. Stuff happens in sports that is out of your control and even stuff like Caruso injuring his hand at the beginning of the 4th was extremely unlucky.
What the Thunder do now is going to be very interesting. They owe Chet a quarter billion dollars over the next 5 years. They also have a team option on Hartenstein for 28m next year. Based on how he did vs. Wemby I think you have to exercise it. Then you have Dort with a team option of 18m. I would not take that and attempt to sign him to a team friendly deal or sign and trade him or let him walk. Kenrich (7m), Cason (7m) and McCain(4m) are all in the same situation.
Itās funny how in one series we went from the Thunder have broken the NBA and will be unstoppable for the forseeable future to they are a broken mess and should trade Chet and picks for Giannis(no i do not think we should do this but reddit does).
Positives from the series are SGA gave it everything last night. I canāt imagine how frustrating it would be to be double teamed the whole series and you pass it to what is supposed to be option 2 in Chet and he shits the bed every time. Caruso was great. He and trading for McCain this season probably saved this series from being over sooner.
He still seems not involved enough to me. That could have been OKCās defense but it seems like the ball should always be running through him. Heās also a good passer and they have some great shooters. I had game 1 only in the background so I didnāt get to watch his best game closely to see what was different from the rest.
