National Basketball Association - 2022/23 Season (Part 1)

Why not? The cavs game up a first for Allen. Levert is better than Covington who Blazers gave up a first for.

Problem is, noted Trumper Fertitta is still in charge. Rockets going nowhere regardless of how many picks they have.

True, I just think its worse to be the team that gives a Gordon Hayward like contract to Dipo then letting him walk though.

If you’re starting from zero, Levert will get you more wins than Covington, but if you are adding to a playoff team with stars already in place, RoCo is a better fit. Covington is a 3-and-D guy whose versatility was what Portland felt was needed. Levert’s ideal role on a championship contender is probably microwave scorer off the bench.

Levert is a volume scorer who isn’t really a shooter, doesn’t provide value on defense, and I don’t think is enough of a playmaker to really run your offense through. I think the Dunc’d On take is that he is a player who is best with the ball in his hands a lot, but your team is limited if he has the ball in his hands a lot.

Keeping Levert is the safe route for Houston. They get a pretty established level of production. Oladipo is more of the high-risk, high-reward option. Morey may be gone, but I think the team still embraces his principles of team construction–hence their signing of Christian Wood–and Oladipo is a better fit for their offensive philosophy than Levert.

I don’t think they are planning on re-signing oladipo.

I think it’s an option they would consider, but first they have to figure out how to dump Eric Gordon’s contract.

Fertita’s priorities are: 1) Stay out of the luxury tax. 2) Make the playoffs. Re-signing Oladipo might make sense within that framework, if they can get rid of some salaries.

I don’t think Levert’s value is high enough to where Houston could have gotten a lottery pick for him, so trying to hit on rehabilitating Oladipo is probably a better shot at acquiring a star than getting a late first or two or trying to develop Levert.

Cavs are building a nice young core with Sexton, Garland, Okoro, Porter (if he ever gets his shit together), Windler (if he can ever get healthy), and now Allen.

gonna be funny for the rest of the year though with Allen, Drummond, McGee, Love and Nance.

I get this but Kyrie can’t be any worse than Russ. Just make harden a role player off the bench like he used to be and voila.

You’re funny.

Thoughts and prayers and all that, but I traded for LeVert yesterday :((

There is no one I’m rooting for to succeed in the NBA more than Tacko. Well, he and Bol Bol.
