I think it makes the 76ers owners bad owners. Hinkie presented to them exactly what his master plan was and approximately how long it would take to achieve. I think it was fair for him to operate under the assumption he would have the time and leeway to enact that plan.
Owners on the other hand screwed up by firing someone halfway through the plan, when all the evidence showed it was working exactly as planned. Not saying it was going to work, but if they didn’t believe his plan would work, they shouldn’t have hired him in the first place.
There’s a huge difference between a written plan of hey we’re gonna suck for awhile then the owner seeing how much suck that really was/timeframe.
Seriously, did anyone not realize he was gonna get fired with that plan? I thought it was pretty smart, have a plan to suck so you’re just like “well that’s part of the plan!” so you get a year or two longer than you should’ve otherwise.
We are starting this thing back up in 3 days! I honestly can’t wait. I got into basketball when I moved to Indy 5 years ago and fell in love. It definitely helps that I watched the 17-18 Pacers take Lebron to 7, but the whole thing is great to watch.
Figures. As a Creighton and Fla State fan this year and last year are probably the only seasons either of them will be elite, so both seasons must be wiped out.
