This sequence in the 4th was amazing basketball by both sides:
Assuming weāre thinking of the same shot, I think White hits that less than 10% of the time. I would have been surprised if Curry hit that. That was absurd
Horford has played most of the playoffs at a ridiculous level. If they keep doubing Tatem n Brown they keep drilling wide open 3s .
Cs top 2 13-40 and they run it out. Pritchard out rebounded all but 2 warriors.
Iāve seen some people wondering if Klay is a defensive liability in this series and if the Warriors have more than one two-way player who can guard Tatum/Brown.
This game showed the Celtics defense does work against the Warriors, the Warriors can break through against it sometimes, and the Celtics can occasionally match the Warriors shot for shot during a hot streak.
Not sure about Draymond but I saw a lot of speculation that this would be a bad matchup for Poole and he needed fewer minutes in this series. What does a Warriors rotation look like if they go with all two-way players who arenāt a huge liability on one side of the ball?
GP2 would be absolutely huge in this series. Iād give a good chunk of Pooles minutes to him if he is healthy. He would give Brown so many fits, dude has maybe the best hands in the league which is a nightmare for Brown. Heās decent at cutting to the rim and can knock down open 3s. But mainly his defense for 15-20 minutes would be massive.
I think they have a much harder time in that 4th quarter if GP2 was out there.
Although honestly if Poole is unplayable because his defense I donāt think they can win. Heās the only other real ball handler besides Dray and is important in creating for that 2nd unit. Every time Steph came out of the game seems like Celtics went on a massive run.
Wiggins and Steph definitely need to play closer to 40 minutes. Even when Steph isnāt making shots heās massive at creating offense for the team.
I was advocating for more time off so the players were less exhausted but man after your team loses like that 2 days off is a damn eternity.
In all seriousness I was looking at GS bench efficiency in the playoffs. Porter has been really efficient so I would expect him to take some of those minutes from Poole.
After that, probably GPII and then maybe Moody.
Aside from a bad shooting night and his defensive liability, Pooleās 2 turnovers right before that 17-0 run were a killer.
Jalen Rose was saying he thought Dubs looked tired in person, and then Youtube recommending me dumb videos and I bit. Cowherdās noodle brain take was that Woyaz were TOO RESTED for Game 1, comparing them to the Tennessee Titans (lol). So depressing thinking about how many people listen to this stupid shit and how many millions heās raking in.
Think GSW will just have to shorten up the rotation and basically hope one of Poole/Looney play well.
Cs up to 92% on 538 Raptor. Seems like theyād have to be like 99.99% if they win another game under this model, but Iām really wondering if maybe the model just breaks and says theyāre 112% to win or something.
Yaaaay gp2 says heās ready to go game 2. Could be massive for us. Need him to slow down brown
It does seem like in the olden days players played a lot more in the playoffs. Seeing a lot of players throughout getting like 36-38 min max unless they are threatened with close outs,
I get wanting to keep players rested to a degree, it is the thing in the modern nba. But I swear when I was younger, rotations got hyper tightened and the top players took on massive workloads.
I donāt really know which way is better.
Players are asked to do more on both sides of the ball and canāt take possessions off. The gap between starters and top reserves is probably less, too.
Kerrās rotations have been tight when the series have been tight.
This is so weird to me. GSW is the most popular team in the league, Boston has a massive fanbase, Curry is right there with most popular player in the league, and it was a fucking great game.
Metrics are dumb. You can watch the game on YouTube TV and they spent a ton of time advertising that.
Yeah I am surprised by these numbers. GS has a huge national following, and Boston is historically popular.
As for this game two, will the warriors be able to protect the three point line better this time? They were atrocious in game 1.
I would be surprised if those numbers donāt reflect apathy toward the state of streaming.
