National Basketball Association - 2022/23 Season (Part 1)

Remember like one day ago when touch fouls were so important and, well, yeah it looks like cheese but rules are rules and shooters need space? Then Clippers play rugby style and they’re very good defensively and “gritty.”

Looking forward to a Bucks elimination game where no starter gets more than 32 minutes.

Interesting concern from August 13th Mr. Marksman. Very interesting indeed.

Welp, if the Bucks somehow win this game without Giannis, it’s looking like they’ll have to try to win at least the rest of the series without him. Doesn’t look good. He was playing great, too.

I’m pretty surprised at the Bucks flameout here, certainly was not expecting them to flirt with being swept. I guess a chunk of the POR fanbase wants to go after Middleton this off-season.

A lot has gone wrong, but it boils down to getting outcoached. The offense has zero wrinkles, zero creativity. It’s just give Giannis the ball at the top of the key and see if he can do something while the rest of the team watches. That gives the defense a chance to setup the wall. They’d be better off starting him closer to the free throw line. He does a good job most of the time kicking the ball out if he can’t get to the rim, but then he needs his teammates to make threes.

On defense, they refuse to switch and give up way too many open threes.

And of course, Giannis injury aside, Bud still won’t play his best players big minutes, insisting on going with lineups of Pat/DDV/Korver.

EDIT: And now, with Giannis out, even though they have played well, they are particularly fucked on the defensive end. They have no rebounding or rim protecting ability, so Bam is doing whatever he wants. If they cheat toward the basket, the shooters go off.

Also no Brogdon is huge. He helped solve a lot of these problems.

In an alternate universe Harden has 4 justly deserved MVPs

Butler always looks like he’s coked out of his mind

Coach Bud also doesn’t run offense through Brook Lopez nearly enough. He destroys smaller lineups in the post.

JVG makes good points

I don’t buy the “it slows down the flow of the game” argument, though. Just get the call right.

I find fans reaction to Harden fascinating

Dear lord that shot by Jimmy was heinous

He was shocked he didn’t get bailed out by the refs.

Oh hey, Bud playing iso ball with no movement from anyone else.

good call on the block. a little late

Middleton seems like a good dude

I love watching Harden and think he’s the smartest basketball player of this generation. I think there’s a lot to the general dislike of him and his game.

I was about to post how BAM is the greatest basketball player of all time, but that wasn’t the smartest decision
