National Basketball Association - 2022/23 Season (Part 1)

At the risk of being a broken record, three point shooting is the key to every series. We can bitch and moan all we want about reffing, but it’s all about three pointers.

Grant going to need to knock down those open 3s if they want to win

Well especially against the bucks who lock down the paint and give you open 3s. Which is why I feel its a great match up for GSW. Giannis might avg 40 but it wouldn’t be enough

Please get White out

On top of it, the Bucks just can’t make them this series. When they finally did, they made a comeback and won Game 5. Man, Middleton would make such a difference, but alas. It’s certainly been fun watching them take this to Game 7, regardless of the outcome.

Brook is having a decent first half.

And I agree three point shooting is the key to most everything.

jfc, stop playing George Hill. Carter played well in Game 1.

What’s kind of nuts is that I did not think that Middleton’s absence would mean THIS much. But without him, you can see how there are absolutely zero playmakers on offense, plus you miss a solid perimeter defender. Without him, the role players have gone from good role players to absolute garbage and Jrue isn’t a good enough offensive player to be a strong Robin to Giannis’ Batman.

The Celtics, in the meantime, have players all over the lineup that can make shots and do things on both ends, even if one of their best players goes down. (kudos to the Bucks’ defense, though, for holding them down at times in the series)

Every time the announcer says “corner three,” I think of Family Guy.

Lol, Giannis gets that call 100 times out of 100.

lmaoooooooo so all these offensive fouls on the celtics but Giannis gets to do what he does.

So what does the “that was not a charge on Giannis” crowd think of that one?

Those are the ones Giannis gets called for all the time. Out of control, defender is established, offensive player tries to go through him and adds an elbow (not intentional).

That it was a charge… but I would have to revisit a Giannis transgression.

I thought that was a charge even by the murky theory that I understand nba charges.

omg lol there is nothing defensible about this call. Just play the game under protest at this point. That’s fucking horrendous. Probably wasn’t even a foul at that. Smart gets rewarded for his theatrics while the refs listen to the pundits who think he should’ve been given three shots at the end of the game earlier in the series.

Yeah, it wasn’t just running through a defender, the knee/elbow make legitimate contact

These refs recognize what’s a shot and not a sweeping motion.

You have a very loose definition of all the time. He gets away with that 3 - 5 times a game.

Bucks 3-19 from three, Celtics 9-22

It’s really that simple.

I will say the Celtics have had more open 3s.
