that’s what he always seemed like to me, a sharp dude with absurdly good PR.

real punting groups use 100s of different brokers which is why their operation is so big. no one is like ‘oh hi mgm im super smart nerdy dude can you give me millions please’ or even ‘hi pinnacle can i deposit 500 million please?’

I mean it’s a big selection bias thing basically. The people whose biggest problem is getting capped have already figured out how to do the models. That isn’t very many people though because the models are hard. Like way harder than paying scumbags to run bets to the cage for you wearing a disguise. Billy Walters had an entire network of beards using burner phones and shit, right? How much did he make?

again i’m unfamiliar with vegas sports betting and the bet types he was making, but it doesn’t work that way for soccer market.

So how does it work? One thing I’m most curious about is how much of the betting is done online vs live. At this scale it seems like it would be pretty hard to keep track of everything with live bets, which was more or less what Walters did.
