what happened ??? I turned it off in the third quarter
Yeah, what the hell?
I saw the Sixers down 20 late in the 3rd and didnāt bother turning it on.
A 40-19 4th quarter is what happened.
Letās turn to the razor-sharp analysis of Magic Johnson to find out what happened:
A Doc Rivers team chokes away a huge lead? The hell you say!
WIP sports radio is like an angry funeral this morning.
Oh well, we all knew a non-shooting point guard would cost them eventually.
And wait wat? Jazz lose to Clippers WITHOUT Kawai???
As a Sixers fan it blows my fucking mind that people want to keep Simmons. Not only does he refuse to shoot and apparently refuse to work on it, but itās clear that the guy is a complete head case. Like, he is genuinely terrifying on the fast break or if he manages to body past his defender and get to the basket, but for most of the playoffs this year he has been pulling the ball out when he gets one on one fast break attempts. Heās simultaneously the fastest and second largest person on the floor and is terrified to go to the basket. Probably because heās even more terrified to shoot free throws.
I genuinely hate the guy. I want him out and I want to enjoy watching him ruin a different franchise.
Bucks have got to be kicking themselves right now. One of the easiest paths to the finals as a 3-seed and they are about to blow it. You get Miami in the first round, Nets without one of their big three every game and when one plays, he basically stands still, then Philly with gimpy Embiid or Atlanta in the ECF.
On top of that, possibly the Clippers without Kawhi (though if they get past Utah and Phoenix, I guess theyāre handling his loss just fine).
Has there ever been an MVP level player like Giannis who you donāt want the ball in his hands to close out the game and you also probably donāt want him guarding the other teamās best offensive player?
Canāt think one as far as the last shot thing. As far as guarding the other teamās best player, I donāt know why the Bucks arenāt doing that. He was DPOY last year, heās an elite defender. Not sure why they have him sitting in the corner guarding Shamet. I mean, Tucker did a really nice job on KD in Milwaukee, but things obviously werenāt working in Game 5 (Brooklyn exploited Lopez, mainly), so I canāt figure out why Bud didnāt put Giannis on KD.
I donāt even really think itās that bad that you donāt want the ball in Giannisā hands at the end. They have other guys - namely Middleton - who can shoot. Giannis can still play a big role in end-game situations. You just donāt want him taking a jumper (though his mid-range is looking better) or risk putting him on the foul line. The best player doesnāt HAVE to take the last shot.
Iāve seen it argued (by others, this isnāt a brainstorm of my own making) that Giannis isnāt a very good perimeter defender, and if they put him on Durant it actually hurts their team defense because what Giannis truly excels at is help defense / rim protection.
I listened to Rights to Ricky Sanchez (6ers podcast) this morning for some schadenfreude, it was delightful.
This is true. I donāt think Giannis is that great of an on-ball defender esp vs quicker players. KD will just cook him every time. I think itās worth looking at Giannis as more of a big defensively than you would someone like Kawhi.
Valid points. Still seems like he was being used wrong (werenāt they all - if they wouldnāt have gone iso ball in the second half, they wouldāve won despite KDās heroics). Maybe have him pick up KD once KD hits the lane or something, rather than letting KD just blow by Lopez or make a pull up in front of him. I donāt know. The Bucks, except in Game 2 when everything was horrible, always seem to be putting together the perfect offense and defense and then just get away from it.
I did the first 15-20 minutes. More than one F-bomb per minute.
Iām just not sure who is doing the headshots here, luka or bob.
Still cracks me up they called Fultz a faker and ran him out of town for having an injury that kept him from shooting well
