This movie, and come to think of it, the collective works of Andy Samberg, are cruelly undervalued.
Any idea who the villain is? Looked like maybe The Riddle at the beginning, but seemed to move away from that nearer the end
The Nolan trilogy is above and beyond anything else DC has put out in the last 15 years so that doesnt really count imo
I agree, DC lucked into the Nolan trilogy
The Nolan movies are all great, but otherwise the DC movies are a disaster compared to Marvel.
Itās like, DC decides to blow all their money hiring Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton to be Batman? Man, Batman is just a rich angry incel, his story has been done to death, he routinely gets upstaged by his enemies. Thereās nothing interesting about another Afflek/Keaton Batman movie.OK, these are big Hollywood names, but whatever, they suck. No one cares about Michael Keaton as Batman. I donāt need to hear about his origin story for the 97th time.
Give us a fresh new Flash/Arrow/Supergirl feature film, thatās what Iām saying. Grant Gustin has been nailing the role of The Flash for years. Melissa Benoist kills it as Supegirl. She rescues Fluffy the Snake from a tree, everyone loves that shit. Imagine what kind of a movie these people could produce with a real Holywood budget.
Looks like Riddler, Penguin, and Catwoman
Superhero movies are cancer. They are like a giant black hole that sucks up all good art.
I saw that the new Top Gun is now scheduled for July 2021. If everyone postpones there will be so many releases in a short period of time I assume these movies will cannibalize each other and the overall revenue will be less if the movies were released now on demand. What are they going to do if the vaccines dont work or people are still too afraid to go to a cinema or not letting their kids go next year.
I would think that because of COVID fewer movies are being filmed now because of safety concerns. Anyone know if this is actually the case?
If so, then the movies delayed until next year are just replacing the movies that canāt be filmed this year.
All production has shut down for months. It started up a bit last month.
As for the economics. Films donāt make anywhere near as much money streaming.
The exact opposite is true though. When Coogler or Taiki make Disney a billion dollars, theyāre free to make whatever they want forever. They got paid.
With Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, HBO max and every other streaming service, people are getting paid for their like 9th best idea that usually wouldnāt be greenlit because everyone is desperate for content.
The question is how long can they actually wait for the money? That article is from April. I doubt they were expecting this shitshow then. Not to mention that economics took a big hit. Will the spending power even be there?
Big studios will be fine, smaller ones are in trouble. Paramount is pushing back Top Gun because they need it to make probably 800+ million.
Productions are only barely starting to get going in Atlanta. A few things have started casting for extras for filming in September/October, but it sounds like they are going to try to use as few extras as possible and everyone has to get tested for COVID. I donāt think Iāll be submitting to be in anything for quite some time.
Tyler Perry has a massive studio compound - he bought a decommission military base - so he has already been doing lots of filming. He created a bubble, keeping all the actors and crew on the compound. Heās notorious for filming crazy fast. Apparently he just finished an entire season of a show in 2.5 weeks.
Canāt like this enough. Also, theyāre extremely childish.
in b4 but have you seen xxxxxxx
Seriously. Can someone explain why batman is so relatable that we need to make the same movie 15 times over? Heās a billionaire whoās still miserable who walks the streets beating up poor people for fun and occasionally thwarting the mentally ill who frankly deserve better care and really should have their access to outlandish villain costumes restricted in some way.
Sounds like the pitch for the most recent Joker movie
I dont think people have read Batman stories for 80 years and related to the character. Theyāre good stories told well.
Thereās a reason Batman was used as IP for the wildly successful Arkham games.
Iām super hyped for the next Arkham game, but not because of the Batman character.
