Movies (and occasionally face slaps) (Part 1)

I think I just like the story about Brad Pitt’s caravan. I watched it again recently and thought it was fascinating to now understand everything his character said like it was plain English. Maybe I’ve just read the subtitles too many times.

Good poker movies are hard to find, but for sure if we expand it to Gambling movies…

Working with Mississippi Grind on in the background and it’s :+1:

That mustache on Ryan Reynolds though eek

I challenge anyone to make it five minutes into Deal (2008) without laughing so hard the movie stops itself in shame.

No way, it’s a terrific movie.

I was into it early on but it got incredibly slow and boring.

And I say that as a woman who would gladly watch this on repeat.

Mississippi Grind is a remake of California Split, which definitely should be on the list of best poker movies.

Glass Onion was good. Fantastic performances from everyone and one in particular who should be in Oscar contention imo but probably won’t be.

Which? Nobody stood out way ahead to me. I liked them all so much.

Ya makes sense.

Wat?

But also Character Actress Margo Martindale fighting a bear high on cocaine

This just seems like Snakes on a Plane all over again, there’s no joy in making deliberate camp. Just watch Money Plane or Jurassic Shark or any of the organically bad camp movies out there.

Depending on the timing, that could be Ray Liotta’s final movie. Cast is actually pretty good.

Scott Seiss is one of the medics. Best known in interweb land for these:

Also, sounded like a wonderful work environment:

Wikipedia says it is, or at least the last he filmed.

So the stuffed corpse of the original Cocaine Bear is in a random store in Lexington

A very fast two hours. Possibly Michael Bay’s best movie and easily his most mature, though I may always prefer The Rock.
