RIP Ennio Morricone, absolute legend
Hard to come up with a more over due Oscar than him finally winning best score for Hateful Eight, just a mere 49 years after The Good The Bad and The Ugly

Only person I’ve ever gone to a concert of just to watch conduct.
the chapo theory is that it was written in 2008ish, and just finally made into a movie now
I watched it Friday night with the family, again on Sunday by myself, and I’m ready to see it again. I also read this book again, which I (again) super strongly recommend:

It’s the story of how the musical came to be, but it’s also Miranda’s discussion of the lyrics. The full lyrics of every song are in here, annotated by Miranda - what he was thinking, what rap songs he was drawing on, and him pointing out certain intricacies in the rhymes that I clearly never would have picked up just listening to the show. The raps, especially Jefferson’s and Lafayette’s, are so fast that having the printed lyrics seems like a necessary cheat sheet to get the most out of the show.
Bring on the watch party!
Twitter is honouring Ennio in the only way it knows how, getting into an argument about something pointless.

I saw an interview with him and he fell in love with her after seeing her on TV (lol?) and proposed to her something crazy like about 15 times before she accepted.

I read the screen play to True Romance like 20 years ago. Probably still on the internet somewhere.
I had listened to the soundtrack a ton before seeing the show live last fall. Helpless blew me away live. Had no idea.
The original broadway cast is amazing. Our Lafayette / Jefferson was the only cast member on that level. Some super young kid with all the talent in the world.

I’ve seen 47 of them. Haven’t seen Finding Nemo, Shutter Island or Schindler’s List.
Only missing avatar and guardians of the galaxy for me, meh
You can make an account and keep track of how many films you’ve seen from various lists like the IMDB top 250.
I wish I had not seen all 50. Some of them were not so good.
Schindler’s List
The Green Mile
Finding Nemo
Shutter Island seems like weird one to pop up here. It was a forgettable movie that afaik had already been forgotten.
