I say that as someone who has not seen it but have read a bunch and think it sounds like peak Cage.
The easiest way to describe Mandy is this: Imagine an early ’80s van with heavy metal fantasy imagery airbrushed on the side. The sound of psychedelic rock emanates from the van, which is being driven by a long-haired, androgynous Jesus-type with eyeliner melting down his face. The door opens, and amid the neon-drenched smoke there’s a gang of Cenobites from Hellraiser carrying battle axes and bejeweled daggers.
ARE YOU READY TO GO FULL CAGE?! Friday night at 10pm EST, we blow the doors off the bee cage to pay tribute to Nicolas Cage. Make way, Donald, for the One True Golden God.

lol, I’m not sure this will go over will with moms, but okay.
One note is to turn up the sound whenever possible when you watch this. Mandy was the last film score made by electronic music pioneer Jóhann Jóhannsson. (also, there’s a pretty righteous King Crimson intro song).
Also, I might be down for Scanner Darkly some day, I haven’t seen it in a while, but it’s def one of the better Phillip K Dick adaptations.
My favorite past time for years has been discovering cage straight to dvd films. Hadn’t heard of this one. Not sure I didn’t already blow my shudder trial but will check.
I will literally watch anything cage does because he goes for it all the time. Even if it is a disaster 80% of the time. The guy never phones it in.
