the brick wall they’re streaking! towards shows up on Monday
Reds have acquired ace SP Hunter Greene from an Arizona rehab league. Looks like Lodolo slated to come back within a week or two. If these horses are truly good to go then Greene / Abbott / Ashcraft / Lodolo is a strong rotation and I’d expect them to run down at least a WC spot. If they’re Bob Baffert horses then this team is probably done.
If they’re juiced, they should be better, no?
Maybe for a week or two until they die.
They Dead
Robo umps for balls and strikes can’t come soon enough. That shit is so infuriating.

Can somebody explain how SD has a 12% chance of making the playoffs while the Mets and Nats (1 and 2 games back of the Pads respectively) have less than 2% each?
Saber matrix’s!
Run differential is a better predictor than win-loss for future wins and losses.
I think that their playoff% also takes into account preseason projections or something. Rangers are 2.5 games up on the Asstros and have a WAY better run differential, but only slightly higher playoff odds.
Padres have a way better roster than than the Mets who had a firesale at the trade deadline and the Nats.
At this point in the season preseason projections aren’t a factor.
The Astros have gotten healthier and the Rangers have some major injuries. also takes into account future schedule where the Astros have an advantage.
They use Zips and Steamer projections for ROS performance. Those do weight current season more heavily, but still consider prior season performance.
De La Cruz fastest to to 10 HR and 20 SB since Barry Bonds. If the dude can figure out how to consistently put the bat on the ball he’s gonna look great in a Dodgers uniform.
bonds was 65, elly did it in 64
at least the speed elly is as entertaining as the overly roided guy hitting 70 HR’s
AL West is going to be super entertaining coming down the stretch.
