I watched him play high school ball a few times and his HS coach was my pony league coach the year we won the championship. Fun times.
Szymborski did a mid-season translation on CES recently for Fangraphs:
Christian Encarnacion-Strand, Cincinnati Reds – .321/.381/.624, 14 HR
Encarnacion-Strand’s lines look insane, enough that one ought to double-check that I actually posted his translation rather than his raw numbers. I didn’t; he’s hit .361/.431/.733 for Triple-A Louisville.
Leaving Encarnacion-Strand in the minors at this point is getting ludicrous. The Reds have found themselves in real contention in the NL Central right now; how much more is he going to learn against minor leaguers with an 1.164 OPS?
Tyler Stephenson has been awful (.250 / .328 / .360) and has appeared in 73 games, starting 36 times at DH while also being very bad defensively in 29 starts at catcher. No idea what they’re waiting for but it’s gonna be a difference of 1-2 wins which could mean a lot in this division.
Royals fittin’ to take 3 of 4 from Tampa
Tyler was injured last year?, so they were looking to give him abs imo
I thought the lineup improvements might provide a bounce for him, but he’s been a bit of a disappointment
Yeah, it’s entirely injury related unfortunately. Kind of hoping he has some trade value on the grounds that he’s shown the ceiling you’d want in a catcher, but he needs more time to figure it out.
tyler’s career BA is .281 including this season’s 250. He shouldn’t DH but they’re just letting him go through it, happens to lots of players in stretches.
every time I look up, it seems the Pirates are getting shutout
that young pitcher for the Marlins, tho. recognize
So fucking tilting letting Newman hit RvR there with the tying run on 3rd when you have a guy mashing 1.050 OPS at AAA that you can’t call up because reasons.
if nothing else the reds are going to be the most fun, not just youthful energy but basically every game a bunch of (in play runs)
Reds at O’s tomorrow hype! Cole Irvin has been mostly bad
lol brilliant
Shohei Ohtani demolished his MLB-leading 26th home run.
113.0 mph off the bat. 446 feet.
Trout is a good pro. lol bless his heart
you think Curt Schilling has Twitter? let’s go troll that dumb motherfucker, or we can resist doing that
He has a live Youtube streaming show on a channel that Tomi Lahren also frequently appears on.
