Major League Baseball (Part 1)

It was Realmuto. He wasn’t taking shit. One of the most respected catchers in the game for a reason.

The refs are going to be under so much pressure and scrutiny and are going to be inserted more than ever into games and the big ego ones are gonna WILD OUT and it’s gonna be great.

Yeah, maybe. What’s close to a lock is that the robo-ump is coming to the majors, proly in 2025.

I’ve been to MiLB games with the robo-ump. It was quite transparent. If you weren’t aware of the robo-ump, you wouldn’t notice the robo-ump. Which was somewhat disappointing. I was hoping the robo-ump would mean that after 100+ years we don’t have to look at the home plate ump’s fat ass anymore.

Pretty sure he can un-toss him but that’s never going to ever happen because then he would have to admit he made a mistake and people with power/authority never admit to mistakes.

It’s That Wednesday… a day w/o any games on tv, or otherwise. The regular season starts tomorrow. Time for us to make our pre-season picks…

Mariners 4-3 over some NL team with a massive payroll that everyone in the country is rooting against.

Don’t forget Ohtani wins Cy Young with a sub 2 ERA

These are super live.

We’re already working with the human element, and now we get a beaker of acid and some water. You’re supposed to pour the water directly into the acid, right?

Yo. It’s opening day. I’m a Tiger fan. Right now, we’re right there. First place tie. But seriously, despite seeing no posts for 12 hours in this thread, I think the enthusiasm is pretty high. Pitch clock is working far better than I thought it would. I’m not going to miss the shifts.

DFS contests are selling out fast. I wonder why it is that I can blow a few hundred at the poker table or casino and not feel that bad about it, but when it comes to DFS, it feels like a gigantic risk to play two $15 contests? I don’t get it psychologically. Online money seems to have much more value to me than what’s in my pocket.

For me, it’s that with poker I’ve got much more control and am at least working with roughly the same information the other people are working with. For DFS I know there are people doing enormous research, hedging with multiple lineups, etc.

Yeah true. I’ve always thought one of the biggest problems with DFS is that the guys who spend countless hours studying are playing the same low-cost contests that I am. But of course, I’m not going to study my ass off if I’m only playing $5-$10 on DFS. I will say though that I haven’t had to deposit in two years and have taken out about $1,200 during that time. I think the goal for me is to not go busto in the hope that I might bink a cheap contest. I absolutely don’t want to thrust big money into it.
