Major League Baseball (Part 1)

By the way, if you didn’t hear about it, the buses went crazy fast at the parade. It was ridiculous:

Maybe they were trying to silence critics who said speed wasn’t a big part of the Braves profile this season.

mlb.com ranks every MVP ever.

Bonds has 3 of the top 5 and all 7 are in the top 52.

Fwiw, I’d put '04 over '01. The pure numerical values of his 2004 season are close to inhuman. 60% OBP lol.

People say that Rosie Ruiz’s time in the NYC Marathon in 1980 was also inhuman.

I’m pretty confused by Harper winning. He had a good season on a .500 team, didn’t lead the league in lol RBIs, it’s weird. I can’t see the reason why traditionalists or analytics folks would vote for him. I saw an article from Mike Schmidt about how he “put the Phillies on his back” but they’re not handing out trophies for 82 wins.

I mean,

Everyone had the opportunity to sprout wheels as well

… and bang on trash cans…

Only voted for 7 out of a possible 10 and one of those 7 was Ryan fucking Howard, get out of here. As a bonus, he says that Gary Sheffield and Sammy Sosa should have been banned from baseball for life for threatening to make an error on purpose and manipulating equipment respectively but voted for Omar Vizquel who’s being investigated for allegations of domestic abuse and sexual harassment.

He just plays the game the right way.

lol Ryan Howard. Dude had one year that if he replicated for 5-7 years he’d be fringe

Its a really weird take to be pro-Howard and anti-Ortiz. David Ortiz is Ryan Howard, just 3x better.

I think he’s just trolling, honestly. Regressive baseball “thinkers” love to adopt an indefensible case just to provoke arguments. Its a shame because its not like there’s anything wrong with Ryan Howard’s career, the dude smashed some dingers and won an MVP and a WS. He should be celebrated! But this attention whore writer is going to bring the whole weight of baseball analytics crashing down on Ryan Howard to prove that he kind of sucked in a bunch of weighs. Way to create the most toxic outcome possible just so you can preach nonsense. Sanctimonious baseball writers are the nut low of sports culture, and that’s saying alot.

Ortiz allegedly juiced though so he can’t be in the HOF full of dudes hopped up on amphetamines.

I actually didn’t know that, or just forgot it. Anyway it’s a bottomless pit trying to race to the bottom of the mind of a stupid HOF voter, there are terrible takes like this every year.

The strangest part of the HoF vote is that Prince Fielder is eligible. That means he’s been retired for 5 years, and played for 10. And Cecil Fielder came into the game not that long ago from my perspective.

Lol Jeff Kent >>> Barry Bonds. Solid take.

This is just cancel culture run amok. AMOK. Like, no seriously, it is cancel culture.

Thats called “getting old”
