Major League Baseball (Part 1)

that ball was not even close to a strike

Shades of Ed Armbrister, Pudge Fisk, and Larry Barnett in 1975 WS.

My Atlanta buddy is taking it a little hard

Was this the leadoff guy in the 9th I’m guessing? (I didn’t see it)

This ump is a joke. Jesus.

Fucking Bogaerts watching his hit. He should be on third base. He doesn’t run out ground balls either.

That would have been a sac fly.

Pretty sweet of Laz Diaz to give the Astros like five strikes

.

I think Dave is running away with that honor. Bonus points for letting a guy try his hand at center field in the playoffs. (Not his first games in center; he played earlier and got hurt slamming into a wall, and now he’s timid.)

Sox radio guys citing ESPN stats, 21 missed B/Ss tonight by Díaz, most by any ump in the playoffs

Pretty good! One A, two B+, one B!

Except that #2 Worst Missed Call would have ended the top of the 9th, which instead resulted in 7 runs…

I mean, one missed strike doesnt give a team 7 runs. The Sox had a part to play in that

Of course. Perhaps a better way of making that point is that it was a blown call in a particularly high-leverage situation, which obviously impacts outcome much more than other blown calls.

I need to review this stat but Renfroe has hit into 11 double plays this series.

JFC. Fundamentals.
