Armando Galarraga proved to be incredibly empathetic and forgiving immediately after this happened. The next day, Joyce was behind the plate and was certainly going to be booed mercilessly. Jim Leyland decided to have Armando deliver the lineup card to Joyce in an effort to keep the crowd from going nuts. It worked. One of the best stories nobody has ever heard.
