Major League Baseball (Part 1)

You are morally obligated to pirate games that are not shown on mlb.tv imo

Free

  • Fox: Free with the canejo. Exclusives. Exempt from the local blackout. If the canejo don’t work for you, you’ll need to include Fox in your cable/etc package.
  • mtb:tv “free game of the day” Free to stream. On mlb:tv, there are several 100 free games to stream, including some whole “free days” too. Don’t snooze on these games if you don’t pay for mlb:tv. Local blackout apply.
  • Youtube. Free to stream. Youtube has about a dozen free exclusives later in the season. The youtube games are exempt from the local blackouts.

Pay

  • mlb:tv pay level, which cost $149.99/yr including spring training. This is the majority of mlb games. Local blackout applies. Also, games mentioned as exclusives above and below are blacked out. Fox often does regional coverage. When they do, only the game Fox broadcasts in the viewer’s local area is exclusive to Fox, while the other regional games are on mlb:tv.
  • FS1: Like Fox, when FS1 does regional coverage, only the broadcasts in the viewer’s local area is exclusive to FS1. You need cable/etc only to see this handful of local games. Otherwise, all FS1 games are also included in mlb:tv.
  • Peacock at $4.99/mo. Sunday morning exclusives. Exempt from local blackout.
  • Apple+ at $6.99/mo. Friday evening exclusives, Exempt from local blackout.
  • ESPN: Sunday evening exclusives, Exempt from local blackout. This will be included in your cable/etc package,
  • Your local RSN(s): These have all the local blackout non-exclusive games. In other words, the games most fans are most interested in watching. This will also be included in your cable/etc package.
  • Cable/etc package at ~$53/mo and up. Needed to get FS1, ESPN, and your local RSN(s).

Note that the MLB channel, TBS, which are included in most cable/etc packages, as well as streaming service ESPN+, also have live MLB games. All these games are also included in mlb:tv. These channels wait to the postseason to start in with that exclusive shit. To answer the original Q, to get all regular season MLB games, it costs a minimum of…

Source Cost $
cable/etc 318 6 mo
mlb:tv 149.99 season
apple+ 41.93 6 mo
peacock 24.95 5 mo
$534.88

Incredible analysis with an incredibly frustrating result

A nice thing about being a degenerate who sleeps during the day is I can watch all the games on mlb.tv on replay after I wake up and skip commercials. Also if anyone wants a cheap sub, I think t-mobile is giving away more free codes so you can probably find one for $5.

Yeah, t-mobile is repeating their mlb;tv perk starting on the 23rd.

During the pandemic, since I had no “watercooler” interactions, like talking ball at the bar, where I cared about being “up to date” with the scores… I also only got mlb:tv and fast forwarded through the commercials. Did the same with the NFL too. I really wish that MLB produced a commercial free version of the game replays like the NFL does on their replay package, now called NFL+.

Today is Sabo Bowl #233 !!!1!.

My Red Sox won Sabo Bowl #232 last night 4-2. No change in yapping-taunting rights occurred. Currently I have yapping-taunting rights over my dog Sabo. He can’t bark without my permission, and I can taunt that scruffy creature at my whim.

However, if Sabo’s Padres beat my Red Sox this afternoon, that will switch to him having yapping-taunting rights over me… he could bark at his whim, and I’d have to address that wonderful doggie with respect. His time would be limited however, as such rights would revert back to me on the 23rd, as my Red Sox have already won the series.

This day game after a night game is hard work. I can see why they often give players it off. I ask asked yesterday if I have season tix. I said “no, that’s way too much work”. I’m a little jelly of Sabo, as I “have” to go to the game again, while he doesn’t have to. Note: Sabo Bowls are not numbered consecutively.

Where would I look for such a thing?

Should be able to get one for a $5 amazon card from someone here in a couple days.

If I already got the offer previously can I give this new one away?

Blue Jays just came back from commercial with 2 outs. This is a new thing, right? Or am I crazy? Seems less than optimal.

Also less than optimal lately is the Blue Jays record against their own division. :grimacing:

I thought the Jays moves this off season were pretty bad. Hopefully this is just a rough patch and the team proves me wrong.

@Rivaldo

MICKEY MONEY

You’re gonna like this kid. He’s batting a cool .450 with .900 slugging on .700 BABIP. Clearly sustainable.

Sabo’s Padres won Sabo Bowl #233 by a score of 7-0. He has temporarily yapping-taunting rights tonight and tomorrow. Unfortunately, I’m concerned he’s got something up his nose, so I’m taking him to the place he hates the most in the world tomorrow… the House of Pain. He’s pretty much aged out of yapping anyways. My poor little boy… he can’t win for not losing.

Sabo is a good guy !!!1!

Will be great when he hits for the cycle and the Angels lose by 11

In fairness to the Angels, they often only lose by 1 or 2.

I guess at least they are finally doing the right thing. Still pretty sad they they initially gave in to the RWNJs (and of course the Twitter comments are just a mess).

Fine… Fuck the Dodgers RETRACTED… for now.
