It would be rock, jazz fusion, rap, R&B Soul
all stuff i like, so I wouldn’t be all sour throughout lmao tho @Jalfrezi would no doubt throw an ‘avante garde’ wrench into proceedings

obviously the true battle here was for second place
Careful with Fairport, they changed their line up insane amounts throughout. Personally I think that album, Leige & Leaf, is a masterpiece, and the albums either side (Unhalfbricking & Full House) are pretty great, but beyond that it’s lots of mediocrity that isn’t really worth bothering with. Though different tastes and that.
When I was 13 Love Over Gold (one with Telegraph Road on) was literally the only album I listened to for months on end. Obviously fairly soon afterwards I became a music snob and denied my affection for decades, but lovely to see it here.
Thanks for the heads-up.
Just wanted to say this is amazing. Thanks, jalfrezi. If the vocals were turned down in the mix just slightly in a couple spots this would be near perfect.
For me the best thing about Telegraph Road is the 5 minute instrumental at the end, and that’s saying something because the rest of the song is also pretty damn good.
Love 60’s Fairport Convention. Tam Lin ended up being around third in my choice of songs for the story category. Another story off Liege & Lief (Matty Groves) was also in the running. In the end I went with the clearly superior lyric writing and arguably more evocative voice of Joni Mitchell - and thank god I did.
Someone discovering a love of CAN makes reading all the nonsense that’s been written here about them worthwhile.
Yoo Do Right is the tougher end of their spectrum - you should give their most accessible album a listen:
Do it.
I absolutely love the music I post, but the reason for playing this game it is to bring it to others’ attention.
I remembered I still owe you guys a top 10. I cut it down to top 9 because I was certain of theses nine and there were several that could have made it as no.10.
