One could say the same about BLM, sadly. It really does take a ridiculous amount of protest/action (god knows politicians aren’t helping) to make a better world and those in power will fight even harder (and kill more protestors in Iran/Arab Spring countries/Russia cases) when they feel the least bit threatened.
20 minutes into the future:
Shocking scene right now in Washington, D.C., as Trumpinista Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene pulls a gun on the street.
wait real or onion?
Not real. Yet.
lol remember when Nancy installed metal detectors at the Capitol and Bobert said “fuck you” and just walked around them?
I wonder if the governments of the first world are equally tense about the election in Brazil today as I am. I consider the prospect of further chopping down the Amazon more dangerous than Putin’s nuclear threats.
My girlfriend’s step dad is down the rabbit hole with the Brazilian version of MAGA. Lula wants to let men in little girl’s restrooms, Lula wants to give all the criminals jobs with taxpayer money, etc, etc.
Her mom is liberal, and fed up with hearing his bullshit. Her voter registration is messed up, so she can’t vote. But they own an ice cream shop that always does big business on election day and they need a minimum of two people to work it.
So her mom “accidentally” gave all the workers the day off without him knowing, so he has to stay and work and can’t vote.
Bolsonaro -1 vote.
Bolsonaro apparently sent federal police into liberal areas to pull buses of voters over and harass them. They’re also pulling cars over and jamming up traffic.

Edit: Yikes auto correct.

Hold onto your hats, Brazil coup incoming
He’s not leaving even if he loses, and it seems the police/military are on board.
Yeah I told my girlfriend a few months ago I expected him to lose the election but keep power. I have a very bad feeling.
We’re watching CNN Brasil. I don’t khave the first clue what he’s saying, but the Brazilian John King/Steve Kornacki is better dressed. But he also didn’t even go to the touch screen on his first hit.
Israeli elections in two days. 5th time in 3 years.
Will be interesting to see what happens if Bolsonaro doesnt leave office if he loses the election. Will be tough for EU countries to add more trade restrictions which could potential skyrocket prices even more. Its all coming together at the moment.
Same. Given that we live in the WAAF universe, I expect Bolsonaro to retain power and the GOP to control both house and Senate, effectively fucking over our planet for good, gg. We’ll be lucky to see only a 3 degree increase by 2100.
So who are the good guys in that one?
Are there any good guys left in Israeli politics with any power? Serious q.
I don’t know. That’s kind of why I was asking Yuv.
Lula’s odds have absolutely collapsed on Betfair in the past hour (1.5 in to 1.08) but of course winning the vote is only the first part of the battle these days
