Like half of my coworkers over a lot of the last decade have been from Iran and talk about it a lot so Iāve kind of watched and tried to learn about the situation over there. it has seemed on the verge of bursting for a while. it seems like secularism there has reached a tipping point.
I think whatās going to happen though is that regime is just gonna brutally clamp down and thatāll be the end of it.
This looks like it could be widespread enough and severe enough to actually work. The thread of videos is super long and wild.
There was a similar situation a few years ago and those protests were brutally squashed. I think unfortunately this will end the same way.

Based on Mike Duncan Revolutions podcast, I assume almost all revolutions require a nontrivial part of the ruling class to be involved.

South Korean president overheard insulting U.S. Congress as āidiotsā
South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol was caught on a hot mic Wednesday insulting U.S. Congress members as āidiotsā who could be a potential embarrassment for President Biden if they did not approve funding for global public health.
Yoon had just met with Biden at the Global Fundās Seventh Replenishment Conference in New York City. There, Biden had pledged $6 billion from the United States to the public health campaign, which fights AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria worldwide. The funding would require congressional approval.
āIt would be so humiliating for Biden if these idiots donāt pass it in Congress,ā Yoon was overheard telling a group of aides as they left the event. Video of the exchange quickly went viral in South Korea, where Yoon took office in May as a political rookie. He has never held elected office before and lacks prior experience in foreign policy.
