LOL politics in the rest of the world outside the US, Canada, Europe and China

When I visited Queensland, I didn’t realize that it was basically the Mississippi of Australia. I assume that I’ll go back at some point and I’ll try to be more observant then.

Also had to look up what a ute was.

Looks like several militias have started to attack the junta over several areas at the same time. Looks promising but you never know. The question will be can these ethnic groups work together for longer than just beating a common enemy.

Wtf is Venezuela doing? Voting to annex parts of Guyana for the oil.

Yeah, WTF. “Blood for Oil” is supposed to be America’s foreign policy! They’re stealing American jobs!

Wait, is that the An-Cap guy doing that?

Basically pushing territorial expansion nationalism to corral up support for the next election.

Venezuela and Argentina are different countires, I think.

Oh, damn. Doh.

This is fine.

Well, there’s the difference between German and U.S. immigration alarmists: Theirs discuss mass deportation in secret meetings, while ours discuss it openly at debates and campaign events.

Honestly I find the whole situation terrifying. Its so hard to gauge how many are really in bed with the right wingers. I think there are still a lot of people who wont show up for a demonstration because they are afraid of showing their face and what it could do to their rl relationships(family, work etc…) They will wait until the brown shirts are patrolling again when they can be openly racist/fascist without consequences.
The biggest joke is that the whole time those right wingers complain about the press and the media being leftist but when you look how they covered the farmers protest and the massive demonstrations against the fascists its showing a completely different story. Hell last week the main news show in television started with Fredrik becoming the new king of Denmark instead of a report about people going on the streets to fight for democracy. Talk about priorities. There was an interesting discussion if the fee-financed tv had to have several hours of programm about the new monarch in Denmark. But the numbers didnt lie. These shows had a decent share of viewers.
The terrifying aspect is the thought that we would have to fight for real to save democracy because these right wingers wont have a problem with violence. How many people can even look back at a life of 70-80 years where there wasnt a conflict that could threaten them?

Published only a week before this dramatic adaptation, the report by the independent investigative outlet Correctiv had revealed details of a covert meeting at a countryside hotel outside Berlin last November, where politicians from the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) party and neo-Nazi activists discussed a “masterplan” for mass deportations to be carried out in the event of their coming to power.

Same plan as Trump and Miller

The mix of proven neo-Nazis and notionally respectable business people at the meeting was instructive.

So like Trump and Miller

Correctiv is financed through a mix of reader donations, public funds and business activities such as book sales. Before the AfD story, one of its most prominent exposés was about the CumEx tax fraud scandal

Go on…

Ugh, Haiti probably at its lowest point yet. The Kenyan military troops are coming, so that gangs decided to unite and storm the prison to release all the old gang members who has been caught. They proceeded to attack basically every government building, even stuff like the hospitals. Pretty much a civil war at the moment.

Beyond horrible. At this point anyone who isn’t in favor of intervention needs to pull their head out of their ass.

Kenyan military troops are going to Haiti?

Yeah, 1,000 troops under a UN-supported deal.

Huh. Interesting. Sounds ridiculously messy and likely going to get messier.

The only real opposition at this point is from keyboard anti-imperialists, the gangs themselves, and—oddly enough—many Kenyans, who say they’re putting their troops in danger for nothing besides a little money.

It’s true that Haiti is extremely dangerous right now and the gangs are armed to the teeth. For that, we can thank lax American gun laws, an evergreen cause of violence across this hemisphere.
