At least a few states have tried to pass laws making protestors pay for the cost of the police or military response. As far as I can tell none of these laws have been enacted. I think it’s unconstitutional. If it ever does happen it will be directed at BLM, climate/pipeline, OWS etc.

Yeah, they skipped right past making the protestors pay restitution and instead passed laws to allow people to run them over. Not a bad illustration for just how radical the Republican Party has gotten.
