The sitting President being immune from the criminal justice system isn’t new.
Law: Presidents need immunity from prosecution because we can’t let the legal process distract them from their important job.
Trump: going to spend the next few years appealing this ruling b/c he doesn’t like being a convicted felon.

I’m not being hyperbolic when I say you and people like you are the main reason why trump is going to be able to end democracy in the US.
Your pathological obsession with norms simply puts out a massive red carpet for him to destroy everything you think works in the legal system.

This was for sure me 6 years ago. I’m long past that now.
The reason why Trump will be able to end democracy is because apparently that is what voters want and were happy to re-elect Trump. Yes, we can laugh at how bad Garland and Dems did in terms of prosecuting Trump and his circle, but the election showed that voters literally did not care. Even is somehow Trump were given real consequences, that would likely have only helped him get re-elected.

You’ve just jumped to the opposite extreme. There’s a middle ground.
There is this idea in Marxist philosophy that if there are three classes, the aristocracy, the bourgeoisie, and the peasantry, the political system you get depends on how they align. Aristocracy + peasantry → fascism.
Congrats on law prosecuting trump to end up basically a giant a waste of time and money. Guess that’s why garland did nothing.
