or, put another way

Yes I read the article but is there anything legit to this or is it pure bs or a major misrepresentation of what happened?

It is absolute horseshit and will hold no water. It’s lawfare.

The investigation comes as the Trump administration has pledged to crack down on non-profit groups opposed to its priorities. Conservative groups have long decried the way the SPLC has labelled certain right-leaning groups as ā€œhate groupsā€.

Last year, the FBI announced it was ending its longstanding relationship with the SPLC, saying the organization had defamed right-leaning groups by labelling them hate groups.

sure, but it’s still the candidate’s job to win the voter’s vote, and the e-dems are still completely fucking clueless about why the voters didn’t do what they were ā€œsupposed toā€ do. But they’re just gonna keep wagging their fingers at cartoon imaginary voters instead of actually learning anything.

you’re so close to getting it

We have this thread. It gets less traffic for obvious reasons.

Sounds like Spike Lee could make a sequel to Black Klansman

Balanced budget Bill?

Extremely late to the discussion, but Ossoff seems to be saying the correct things about billionaires. I think he stands a good chance at becoming president, and right now would definitely get my support.

yeah this isn’t hard. e-dems just can’t seem to bring themselves to do it, though.

Their view is they need the support of the billionaires.

But why?

A. To do the most good for our country.

B. To keep their own political power.

C. To enact the same old economic policies that have benefited them and the billionaires.

Safe to say it’s not A!

B all the way. Even if someone has some passing moments of wanting to make things better somehow, they will often easily convince themselves that they need to sell out to get enough power to make a difference.

If you want a problem solved make it someone’s project. If you want it managed make it someone’s job.

You see what conservatives themselves say about it

ENGAGEMENT: The DOJ’s indictment of the SPLC confirms what conservative investors have been arguing for months. :fast_down_button:

Since the assassination of Charlie Kirk, we’ve been talking with many of the biggest companies in America that use the SPLC’s ā€œhate list,ā€ which lists mainstream conservative and religious organizations like @ADFLegal and @TPUSA as equivalent to genuine hate groups.

On behalf of investors such as @Heritage and @DavidBahnsen, and working with @ADFLegal/@1792Exchange, we’ve been making arguments that, in the wake of the indictment, are only becoming more obvious.

:orange_circle: The SPLC is a politicized organization that weaponizes the label of ā€˜hate group’ to suit its biases
:orange_circle: Using SPLC metrics to guide corporate policies creates controversy due to the list’s association with political violence
:orange_circle: Reliance on the SPLC’s ā€œhate listā€ will, by virtue of the list’s political slant, create politicized corporate policies

Quite a few companies, from Salesforce to Texas Instruments, have listened, ending their reliance on the SPLC as a result of shareholder engagement - shoutout to @Tyler2ONeil’s stellar reporting on this.

Others haven’t (more on that later). But the point about SPLC being a deeply corrupt and unreliable source is only becoming clearer.

The DOJ’s indictment is making it clear: SPLC is not the organization you want determining your charitable policies. And many of the biggest names in corporate America are beginning to agree.

Thank you to @FBIDirectorKash and @DAGToddBlanche for highlighting this issue.

Like with the university lawsuits the legal merits don’t have to be sound to have a huge impact.

I would imagine they’re also in the process of ginning something up against the ACLU.

Trump terminated a bunch of contracts with law firms because they worked with the ACLU (which has sued the Trump admin a lot).

I think its mostly just the desire for $$$. Both directly through donations and then later through the comfy private sector ā€œjobsā€ they get. Basically it’s the white collar version of the tried and true no-show jobs racket.

Another geezer who probably had giga Alzheimer’s bites the dust. Best part is that even though he was cooked before he ran in 2024 he was STILL running again in 2026. Good job, good effort!
