Ok home, took a nap. Will make a few comments. My teammates played unreal well. I would say I played well until the A event semis. We all kind of played bad the last game and it’s probably the closest I have come to just destroying my equipment in the middle of the game when we lost the semis last night.
Two things really pissed me off. One was we are playing in the penultimate game of the entire event and they put us on sheet E which is all the way on the edge. The edge sheets always suck and play like shit. Fuck off with that.
Secondly we were playing the last Tulsa team alive in the winners bracket and they subbed out their weakest player and had the best curler in their club not only sub but he skipped the game. So the semis went from a coinflip to we are totally fucked before we ever touched the ice. I didn’t say a word about it last night but I did talk to the tournament director today after the event and he told me 3 other people who hadn’t even played in my game had lodged a complaint about it.
We lost 8-2. On to the next one.

Sucks that it’s single elimination
It kind of isn’t single elim but its hard to explain. Every team we played this weekend was in the final of their “event” and I will try to explain it. The fact we sat there watching teams we had destroyed play in the “finals” is both a this not fair moment and a well obviously the teams we played don’t suck moment.
Your run of the mill curling tournament has a 3 game guarantee. Everyone will play 3 and you will end up with the people who did the same as you. It’s honestly a pretty cool system. So you end up with 4 “events” which are teams who went:
WW-a event
LW- b event
WL-c event
LL-d event
Then each pod plays down in single elimination and has a winner. Losing where we did, essentially the 3rd/4th place spot is more prestigious than winning the lower brackets. But we also dont go home with hardware.
