As someone on team WAAF I think both the optimists and pessimists are half right/wrong.
Biden winning and the Dems taking the Senate are huge. We avoid finding out what 4 more years of Trump unrestrained by re-election would look like. We also, maybe more importantly, end Mitch’s obstructionism. Judges can be seated and probably some of the more centrist Dem stuff can be actually executed. The difference in between Trump and/or GOP Senate and what we got is huge.
That being said there is almost no chance the Dems learn lessons from 2009-2010. There is almost no chance at any real progress in the areas we need it most. 2022 and 2024 are still likely to be disasters.
We bought some time this election cycle. But it’s hard to have any confidence in Biden and Chuck and Nancy to actually navigate tricky waters to accomplish anything that will help expand the majority as we move forward. I hope I’m wrong.

Now Eric trump is saying “MAGA ISNT GOING ANYWHERE” and any Republican who doesn’t fight for his dad will get primaried.
Cant wait to see how many freak out. We have evidence Trump was a major contributor to one election win in the last five years, his own in sixteen.
Back to the point, ms. Fancy jet made a ridiculous mistake. Did it cost her the election? Hard to say as both elections directly influenced each other. But jumping on the Georgia elections are rigged and I am going to the mat on that was just dumb, dumb, dumb.
It’s pretty clear that Donald Trump’s involvement in a Republican election is rarely helpful for them and often a hindrance.

Given the seemingly low probability of success and the high states, this election win is HUGE. That it also sticks a knife into Trump on his way out is a major bonus as well.

there’s no real functional privilege to being senior senator from a state, is there? Maybe they get the better office?
