The runoff was originally scheduled for December 1, but Raffenberger moved it to make things easier for election workers. It’s a runoff, so he has a chance, but that move gave him a better chance to ride on the coattails of the Senate races.

Surprised Mitch didnt even try to put forward some bullshit 2k bill with poison pills.

If they lose the Senate hes gonna look like an idiot and I’ll take back how impressive he is at politics

I’m curious about this tweet (“they can scan them but can’t tabulate until tonight”). For the Dominion system I’m familiar with, the scanning machines are literally called tabulators and I didn’t think it was even possible for them to scan without tabulating.

But I guess it would be trivial to make it a 2-phase process where the ballots are first scanned, then later the software analyzes the scanned images to count votes. But then I would think the process of counting of the already-scanned ballots would be pretty much instantaneous. I wonder if anybody knows what percent of the mail-ins will have been scanned by this evening.

In any case I took a look at a sample ballot to confirm that there are no write-ins, and since the number of ovals on the ballot is small (i.e., not many opportunities for the voter to screw up), there should be very few ballots that need to be adjudicated by teams of humans.

Also I noticed on the sample ballot the Democratic candidates are labeled “Democrat” while the Republicans are labeled “(Incumbent) Republican”.

I’m not saying this will be a big factor, but I’m pretty sure this will cause the Rs to lose a few votes since a handful of illiterate morons won’t be able to figure out who they’re supposed to vote for.

This probably made more sense for the dems back when they still had some appeal to the racists.

Are there no shitbag counties posting turnout numbers for a quick comparison?

apparently not

It’s rural Georgia

What are the odds if we somehow win this thing that Joe Manchin does a heel turn and fucks it all up?
