The two shotgun barrels we’re looking down are inequality and climate change. Whatever super bad shit happens in the coming decades will likely be rooted in one or both of those issues.

Climate change should have been in there. Not sure about inequality. Why is it bad? Because it causes one of the other polls options, right?
I will go with wealth inequality. America has effectively established a form of Monarchy where rich people pass all their wealth and power to undeserving children, and they have used the concentration of power to establish a mythology that they are naturally superior even when it is obviously not so. The rest of the problems really flow from this root cause that has gutted the institutions that could otherwise be working on those problems.
