Me, thinking it’s not worth clicking ‘reply’ just before I do it anyway.

I am. I just like the attitude. I never really smoked but it looks cool.

It’s weird how I can look at old pictures like that or the cricket video riverman posted a few days ago and think smoking looked badass back in the day, and then I see Chapelle doing it on stage this week and it seems so wildly inappropriate and dumb.

Its never too late to start smoking.

Hah! I can get cancer from the wind turbines on I-65 and they think I’m gonna strap those babies to my arms while I’m walking!? NICE TRY, SCIENCE!

What do you nerds think of this PC instead? It’s amazing how clueless you are when you’re out of the game for like 8 years

Definitely go to 16Gb RAM, it won’t cost much more and will future proof it.

What are you trying to do with it? That has no GPU so if you want to play games it will suck.

Per my earlier post I have no idea if I want to play games or not. I haven’t really gamed in a long time and my current PC is like 7 or 8 years old. I used to love gaming and put like 200 hours on Skyrim and Fallout 3 but I haven’t done shit but used the PC to browse and watch movies/shows on in a long time.

I guess I was looking for a PC where if I did want to game I could but not spend a bunch of money on a gaming PC in case I don’t. I’m aware of the no GPU but figured I could get a decent card and try and game and see if I’m into it. Plus just having a PC that isn’t going to be complete shit in a few years that I could easily upgrade if I wanted.

Cold fusion news has been scarce lately. Partly that’s because it’s disguised as other stuff because people don’t want to be known as kooks.

This is something from NASA. It sounds like a similar process as that used by Pons and Fleischmann in 1989 except with a strange choice of materials. I guess the unique thing is irradiation with gamma rays, though people have tried lasers and other kinds of stimulation before.

In pursuit of a new energy source for deep-space missions, NASA revealed a means of triggering nuclear fusion. The results are published in the Elsevier journal, Physical Review C. The theoretical paper, “Nuclear fusion reactions in deuterated metals,” describes the mechanisms, and the companion paper, “Novel nuclear reactions observed in bremsstrahlung-irradiated deuterated metals,” presents experimental results.

Man it’s been over 15 years since I last put together a desktop PC.

Don’t play enough PC games to justify putting together a new rig.

Just make sure the motherboard has a slot for a card (it should) and you’re good

I’ve had good luck with Dell Outlet if you want to check there.

i5 is pretty old, 512GB drive is fairly small as you can get a 1 TB m2 for less than $150 now. Not a gaming rig as War stated, but a nice budget option for surfing the net and streaming video I guess.

Look into AMD you can get more muscle for the buck in my experience, I went all AMD board/CPU/card a year ago and haven’t regretted it so far.

Headline writers are often terrible. If I looked just at the headlines of, say, the New York Times, I’d have a lot different view of the world than if I read the articles.
