Where was this corona virus when we most needed it 5 years ago?

Coronavirus: Health minister Nadine Dorries tests positive Coronavirus: Health minister Nadine Dorries tests positive - BBC News
My mother taught me if I have nothing nice to say, donāt say anything. So I present this without comment.
yeah my dad is 74 and has a long history of respiratory problems, heās fucked if he gets this and as a Brexit voter heās not inclined to pay attention to experts so of course he also thinks this is a lot of fuss about nothing. Iāve managed to convince him to accept a bottle of Purell and he promises to use it when he goes the pub, but Iām in the same boat as you here Marty.
At least we havenāt gone Cheltenham this year. Blows my mind that that hasnāt been cancelled!
Hi Broā¦
Iām in the same boat, alough everything is fine here atm, I phoned my dad last night (Angina sufferer, with 14 stents) and heās taking it easy by going around his meetings and helping out as usual
Gave him a piece of mind, he was not expecting me to turn into the adult, basically my words last night were āIf I need to come up there and kick your arse, I willā he says he responsible for the meetings and such, and my point was exactly, and start to be the responsible 1 as all your group is in danger of death, do you need the āDid I give it to him, thoughtsā.
And he finally gave in, said today is his last day opening the rooms and setting up and will start to self isolate, including my mum.
I fear he will not stop setting up these meetings and Iām raging, but what can I do, its AA and heās responsible for 2 meetingsā¦ Help???
Iām pretty fucked to tbh, it will cost me over Ā£300 a week for my car etc if I take time off, so Iāll work the minimum-Fri-sat-sun-and do some hours during the week.
6 weeks off would cost me my job and if it gets bad here, Iām afraid Iām fucked.
Stopped earlier as its student nights out everywhere tonightā¦
At least my downstairs neighbour came home from the boats safe, heās in London now
Iāll be honest, I surprised myself with how persuasive I found the Boris press briefing earlier. The experts made a pretty convincing case to my uninformed mind, and I came away thinking there was at least some logic to what weāre doing (or not doing) rather than it just being denial or inertia.
But this chart makes the UK strategy seemā¦ bold? At best.
Branson carefully cultivated a hippy image to gain credibility with the newly emerging young solvent middle class while operating as just as much of a shark as anyone else.
You have to factor in the NI accent.
I was sitting at a poker table when a guy whom I wonāt mention told us about his invite to Branson Island for him and his wifeā¦
He didnāt go back after the 1st visit and found the whole vibe weirdā¦ This was around 2005
Ummmā¦okā¦do you think the Bransons would be welcome at one of clovisās parties?
Probably lolā¦
The whole chat was basically the lack of facilities on the Island and no Air Con in any of the rooms and main houseā¦ Mosquito nets etc.
I must say, Boris advising the public to āavoidā pubs, clubs and restaurants whilst leaving them open is a cracking wheeze to shirk responsibility for paying the employees and also helps his insurance chums avoid a nasty payout. Like the advice to āavoidā travel that stops short of grounding flights.
Anyone got any good tips for investment in the guillotine industry? Just in case the public somehow see through this ingenious plan.
Watching Hunt on C4 News ā¦ I really want to punch someone.
edit - and I know heās not even the health minister etc
Ā£330,000,000,000
is that enough? - more 000 - less 000 - no idea really.
Correct zeroes. About a sixth of GDP.
